Multiple Affiliates

When a user places an order with an affiliate cookie, is that account permanently locked to that affiliate?

Example:

Affiliate A refers customer and they order Product X.  Time passes and cookie expires. Affiliate B refers the same customer and they order Product Y. Does Affiliate B receive commission on Product Y?

Affiliatte system works only online mode...I mean regarding website, is there any module around that uses affiliate system where If I client refer us to other future client (person to person),(company to company), so this client that refer us will have profit or maybe discount for every renew that future client did until they remain as a client?

There's a module that awards commission based on multiple attribution models: referral links (cookie-based), manually (Guy X says "Guy Y purchased product Z thanks to me" and administrators can manually assign create the commission between X and Y), interactive (newly registered clients are asked to specify their sales representatives from a list X days after they completed an order with you).

the current affiliate system would sort of work like that with manual intervention... so instead of using cookies, the affiliate can be assigned to an existing order.

let's say i'm an affiliate of your site, or a registered client at least (as all affiliates have to be clients in your WHMCS anyway - even if they don't buy anything from you themselves)... I tell my friend, Paul, to purchase one of your hosting accounts - he does, and you assign me as an affiliate to the order (perhaps you could get my referral name as a custom client field entered/chosen during checkout)... if it's setup as a recurring commission, I will receive a commission for the initial order and any future renewals... what it won't automatically do is assign me to any other orders Paul makes - remembering that in WHMCS, affiliates are assigned to orders, not clients...

there are commercial solutions, available in Marketplace, that can assign affiliates to clients, e.g this one says it can do that...
