Add Affiliate to existing customer

Can anyone tell me how to add an Affiliate to an existing customer. We have searched for ages and can't figure it out.

 

This is for an existing client to have the referring Affiliate added to them after the account has been created, not Activate an existing client into an Affiliate for payment etc which is already part of the system on the Summary profile.

Hi,

I could be wrong on this (I'm just a user), but I don't think you add an affiliate to a customer, but to an order. So view the 'order' (not the customer) in question and add the afilliate to the 'order'.

Thanks for the try. I have looked at this and there is no where I can see to add a referring affiliate to an existing customer, anywhere. I ahve opened an existing invoice and checked all avenues I can see but no joy.

 

I believe it can only be done when the original account is created which obviously doesn't work if a client has been created and the referring Affiliate needs to be detailed at a later stage.

 

Might have to head to Matt on this one

Have you actually looked at the order? Affiliate Referral is at the bottom of all our orders with the option to assign it to an affiliate.

Hi Shane, the item you are looking for is "orders" not invoices Hope that helps. Not sure they will get new orders though?

Correct. I need that same functionality, wish it could apply to manual invoices for clients as well.

I haven't gotten around to figuring this out, but I need to. We have affiliate information from AWBS that needs to be brought over to WHMCS. Whatever anyone finds out, it would be appreciated, (probably by more people than just me even), if you will share your knowledge.

Troy, its not that we havent figured it out, its just not possible to do what were wanting. You can only assign affiliates to orders.

I also need to add affiliates to accounts. We did a bulk import and they are all under order #0 all 80 of them.

 

I need a way to open each account and assign an affiliate, or split the orders. No way am I entering them all one at a time.

This appears to be a glaciel pace for this item.

i agree, its a big pain. Im in the same boat. There is a way to automate the task with a bit of php/mysql though. If i come up with anything, i will consider sharing it

I realize this is an old thread but has this been added? For new customers that i get by word of mouth i typically create an invoice for them, once the make a payment i would manually create a free order. How would i got about crediting the affiliate?

Would be worth a ticket to Matt on this. Maybe ask if any plans to implement it in future releases. We ahevn't been able to get it automated so we can add an affilaite to future orders from a client after an initial order has been placed

Is this a bug or is it by design that when we import an account using "Utilities->cPanel/WHM Import" the order ID is "0" and it does not shows up any where not even under that client, so there is no way to assign an affiliate to that order.

 

Or have you guys found any workaround for that?

Yes that's expected; no order was placed when the product was imported so there's no order that can be associated with it.

I am also a victim of this import process, it really is a nightmare to get this sorted. At moment I wish I had never changed, to many buggy things happen or things are not possible. When importing a lot of information [valuable] is gone lost.. very bad.
