do you remove old log from database ?

Hi,

i find my tblemails is about 2-3gb,

if i delete the old mail log,

clients can not find the old records,

do you have any idea to optimize this part ?

I personally don't clear out such tables because never know when you may need that info.  Even if I did, I would probably would only do entries that are 7 or 8 years old.

Since most of the tables are innodb you could do  compression on the tables, however, I have not personally used this and so do not know the impacts without doing more research .

i'd go along with steven on this - perhaps you could delete records from clients whose accounts have been closed, but I doubt that would save any great amount of space (unless you've got a high client turnover).
