Receiving 2 Copies of Daily Cron sent to my email address

Hi,

I am receiving 2 copies of the daily cron being run which is a ZIP file of the Backup files.

Can anyone shed some light on why this would be happening please? and offer a solution !

Hi @Crashtest007,

Please review Utilities > Logs > Activity Log, do you see two sets of "Cron Job" entries per day?

If so, this behaviour indicates that the cron.php file is being triggered twice. Please ensure there is only one cron job touching the cron.php file on your server.

If not, you might have two administrator users sending emails to addresses which ultimately forward to the same mailbox.

I am the only Administrator - So that rules out anyone else !

The only other cron running is the  "Job Activity"  and I only receive that email once. So I am unsure why I am receiving 2 x Zip files from the Backup Cron.

In Cpanel - I only have the Domain Sync and the Cron.php with the following settings:    */5 * * * * php -q /home/mydomainname/crons/cron.php

@Crashtest007 it sounds like the cron may not be fully running, could you enable errors under Setup > General Settings > Other and then tick Display Errors & Log Errors then login to your servers terminal window and try running the following command 

php -q /home/mydomainname/crons/cron.php -F all -vvv

Check for any errors on the output and go into your admin area Utilities > Logs > Activity Log to check for any errors, pop them in here and we can assist you further.

Here is the Result of the Cron running in Terminal, BUT this is Not producing the System to send 2 x Backup Zip files ???

I have 2 Crons running in Cpanel - They are

domainsync.php - which works fine

and cron.php

So maybe the error is not in the Cron, from what I can see, neither of these 2 crons run a Backup. Sorry, I am not overly Tech minded. Maybe I need to be looking elsewhere and not in a Cron . Would that be correct? Or am I missing something?

@Crashtest007 Could you please open a support ticket so we can look into this further, the cron does handle the backup, it might be worth including -vvv to the end of your cron to see if anything is added to the module log when the standard daily cron runs.
