Marketing Emails Opt in always ON

Upgraded to 7.5 -  yet no matter what I do, from either the admin side

SETTINGS > OTHER - (with marketing emails enabled) and either selecting Require user opt-in enabled or disabled, the client area always shows it enabled.

Changing it to disabled in the client area, makes no difference either.  It simply loads as enabled every time.

Hi @Si,

This setting changes the default state of the option on the register and checkout pages.

For existing clients, you can run the one-time Marketing Email Opt-In Conversion tool. This is located on the Clients > Mass Mail page.
