bluesteam
I have a few problems with the way the late fees works. Scenario 1 The one domain registrar charges a late fee of R250 if it is late over a certain amount of days. This naturally needs to be passed on to the client so I have configured WHMCS to add a late fee after x amount of days. Problem The late fee is applying to hosting packages as well and not only the domain. So in other words when a hosting package fee is overdue, now that is also incurring a late fee of R250. Scenario 2 An invoice has two domains on it for payment with the same due date and the invoice is overdue because the client hasn't paid. Problem The late fee is meant to be applied to each domain separately as that is how I am charged at my registrar. but now WHMCs only adds 1xR250 late fee for the invoice when there should in actual fact be two. So my questions are the following: 1. How can I disable late fees for Hosting packages because I don't actually want to charge late fees for hosting. Only domains. 2. How can I configure the system to charge a late fee for each domain and not on the invoice itself. Thanks all
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted June 5, 2015 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted June 5, 2015 Hi, The domain redemption fee isn't really a late fee and so the late fee feature isn't designed with that in mind. With the domain redemption fee being so much higher than the normal renewal price, there isn't currently an automated way to handle billing them. I would suggest invoicing the client manually for the redemption fee.

I would suggest invoicing the client manually for the redemption fee. The system adds late fees to invoices automatically. I can't now do that manually. It will be an admin nightmare! Maybe WHMCS should have a feature to handle redemption fees as well. I would think this is normal practice for any billing system of domain names.
brian!
there was a free redemption fee third-party addon, but I don't know if it's still being supported... you might need to email the author.. https://www.whmcs.com/appstore/2170/Domain-Redemption-Fee-Manager.html
