WorldWideWebDev
I would like to see or be able to reveal the IP address of the person when posting in the forums. Somehow i recall in the past in other forums that my ip address was listed below my comments. No problem with me. I wonder how many ip addresses would coincide with some strange behavious in WHMCS logs??? Go for it, open discussion...
ljesh
No way I would agree with that.
bear
It's a serious privacy issue, and I would not be in favor of it.
WHMCS Chris
Howdy, If you have a specific case, please let us know. We are definitely willing to investigate without disclosing private information. However likely not in favor of providing that through the forums - our forum moderator may have a different idea here.
mlew2
IPs are seen by the ones that really need to the staff of the site, it would cause too many issues with any others seeing them IMHO
WorldWideWebDev
The idea behind it was that if anyone has a WHMCS log (most of Us) with an attack IP, Id's of persons who have run scripts, changed details etc, has a suspicious gmail accounts with in your billing installations, we could compare to see if they are here. But from answers on this post, if i was suspicious i now know i could always just ask the admins to check if someone has joined with a certain email address. Example, i got hacked by kandyug@gmail.com and had scripts run by tested@gmail.com . If these guys have been registered here, it would be interesting . Dont know what the hell we could do, but, anyway..cheers
ebmocwen
Wouldn't it be easier to submit the ip addresses that we know came from an attempted hack? It would be more useful to see a list of perpetrator ip addresses than a list of poster ip addresses.
WorldWideWebDev
It would be a great idea to have a shame list of all hack attempt IP addresses. A shame list if you wish!
Damo
To serve what purpose exactly? Most IPs used would be from DUL ranges, compromised machines or proxies. Once an IP has been (ab)used they just move on to another.
