bigwetfish
Personally I haven't even considered downloading it yet. I am with many in that I will wait for at least a few weeks till upgrading... Though apparently whmcs.com isn't upgrading yet either... http://whmcs.com/ vs. http://www.whmcs.com/ lol
invictus
Communication is good, but I'm personally hoping they're busy testing, rewriting code and fixing the issues rather than reading every thread in the forums. And though plenty of WHMCS employees/mods *do* spend time in the forums, it's primarily a user-to-user forum and not a means of getting support. Yes of course, I hope they are busy fixing the issues as well. I am just concerned because I have been told by Matt here in this thread that they "do not have any known issues" with my bugs that showed up in 5.1.2, which are in fact confirmed bugs in WHMCS code in my site. A quick comment on my support tickets to say "we are looking into this" would go a long ways, but so far all I got was to be told it had to do with mod_sec, which is something that is not even in use on my server.

Yeah, I saw that. Not sure how he can disclose in one post that there's 488 tickets in the support queue, and yet claim there are "no known issues" (that affect functionality) in the current clusterrrrrr.....release.
gks
Well its pretty lousy but i have diagnosed and fixed my own problem with Graphs not showing and Addons not showing. If anyone is having issue with these you need to add json to you php build. Example here http://www.arckid.com/blog/amfphp/how-to-add-install-json-support-to-php-on-centos-in-10-steps/

JFOC
The domain registrar cron is still not working properly even 5.1 Patches is applied
JFOC
We don't normally complain, but this version 5.1.2 just has way too many bugs and should have never been released as stable. Furthermore, the slowness of response to this upgrade is far from normal for Matt and crew, what usually takes them a day or so to work through all the bugs in v5.1.2 is now taking weeks! Not a great way to say 'Were now getting better by joining forces with cPanel". Hi xxx, We have not had to issue any patches or bug fixes for the release so far as there have been no major issues identified with it. As soon as there is, they will be posted on the forums. Regards, Matt ------- Forums: http://forums.whmcs.com/ Documentation: http://docs.whmcs.com/ Hi xxx, Yep we have seen those threads and they are not bugs. The IP is tracking correctly, the browser windows resize normally, and the domain syncing will not be supported by custom modules until code is added to them for it. Regards, Matt ------- Forums: http://forums.whmcs.com/ Documentation: http://docs.whmcs.com/ I am agree with you. I was sent tickets regarding to some 5.1.2 bugs but they said no bugs, so creepy
ghmercado
hows it going? attached screenshot is my admin area after 5.12 upgrade. There's a big area to the right of where the sidebar is that looks all sorts of wrong. Minimising the sidebar does not help, the links on the sidebar just get reduced to a tab that says 'open sidebar'. Cron doesn't do anything either. I'm not completely sure but I think this was not the case the first moment after I installed it. Only saw it the day after. Any help appreciated.

rdavis
So stripping hard-code from v5.1.2 [clientareaproductdetails.tpl] to make it display correctly is not a bug, then what is? ===================== WHMCS reply: Hi xxxxx, Can you please edit the clientareaproductdetails.tpl file and remove the following section which will resolve this for you: {foreach from=$configoptions item=configoption} <p><h4>{$configoption.optionname}:</h4> {if $configoption.optiontype eq 3}{if $configoption.selectedqty}{$LANG.yes}{else}{$LANG.no}{/if}{elseif $configoption.optiontype eq 4}{$configoption.selectedqty} x {$configoption.selectedoption}{else}{$configoption.selectedoption}{/if}</p> {/foreach} The $configoptions field was renamed and moved lower down on this template so this should have been removed already so I will be checking that here. Mine still sends out 1 email per domain, despite the fact the domains Next Due Date are all set as the same date. joedavis
Just tried upgrading to 5.1 but it failed miserably. The Client Area would not use the template I specified and a host of other issues within the Admin area. This is very disappointing.
mylove4life
I see a lot of people complaining about the update, I am wondering how many people’s problems are WHMCS or their system or lack of knowledge of the system. I mean WHMCS just can’t fix everything other than their software, so I see a lot of unfair stuff going on here
ckh
I used their upgrade service many times before. I think this is another time I'll use it when I'm ready to upgrade...
durangod
I know many of us will wait to update but does that mean 1mo 2mo 6mo, no matter when we do it, if there are this many issues on release then wont there always be issues going forward. I am waiting as well but i know at some point im going to have to say its good enough and bite the bullet. To be fair to both sides thought i would share some thoughts here. First it does concern me that it seems that everyone loves the 503 version of the admin so im wondering why they had to go and make such major changes to it. For me it seems "if it works then dont fix it". To be fair to them i understand that when you do projections of where the software will be in the market years from now or just simply staying ahead of the jone's in the market there are things you need to implement now to be prepared for the furture needs. They seem to have created a whole lot of work for themselves with such huge modifications, done correctly or not. But as a consumer myself i do feel that sometimes developers might think there needs to be a change and they might think "oh this would be cool let me show you what i can do" and in the process they might be able to brag about their work but they also alienate consumers because sometimes changes need to be suttle and not so extreme. There are certainly ways to make changes to keep up with market demand and not toss WHMCS users into a whirlwind of confusion and create another learning curve for us. All the time we spent learning the system now seems to be waisted because it appears they changed the whole template interaction with both admin and user side. And it seems they did this with the attitude "its our way or the highway" with no real input from the very experienced people that use their product day in and day out. Bottom line is that "it is what it is" i just hope that next time they decide on a major upgrade they will consider the fact that not everything has to be turned upside down to keep up with the market and WHMCS should really listen to the feedback they are getting from users. What is the sense in making such huge changes if it is going to hurt your product market share more than it helps? How many people are going to jump ship and how many are going to even bother installing it if there are such huge concerns? All things to consider when your sitting around the development table taking about "oh this would be cool to do, let me show you how talented i am" I understand upgrades are necessary, and i understand that there is no way to make everyone happy, but it sure seems that this upgrade has triggered a firestorm of concerns and it is really something as a company you need to address. I hope i didnt babble too long here lol.. Peace Edited July 31, 2012 by durangod

This is very disappointing. http://docs.whmcs.com/Version_5.1_Release_Notes Template Directory Names - Template directory names must be all one word and contain only the a-z characters, no spaces, punctuations or symbols - this is due to a new security measure. For example a template called my_company should be renamed mycompany.
