[UNCONFIRMED] Mass Mail Tool bug WHMCS 5.1.2 (?)

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I would like to report a bug that we have found in the Mass Mail Tool functionality on the last WHMCS version. We want to send an e-mail to all active customers, but after we filter the customers, fill the newsletter content area text and then click on the "Send Message" button, it instantly shows the message "Email Sending Completed" without even running the loop for mail sending to each customer.

We would like to know if other WHMCS users are able to reproduce this bug. There is no problem with the mail server or configuration, as the notification mails (domain expired, new account details, suspension notification, etc) are being sent without any problems.

Best regards,

Teotónio Ricardo

Just noticed this after our most recent upgrade as well.

Selected Clients->Products/Services->Shared Hosting

Selected Active clients and all for a particular server, and hit Search.

Selected ALL clients and then at the bottom selected "With Selected Send Message"

Next screen (for composing the message) comes up and says: No Recipients

The criteria selected for this email has resulted in no recipients which means it cannot be sent

So, it is NOT passing the receipients to the next screen. This used to work fine, as we use it all the time. Only since our most recent upgrade did it stop functioning.

I am having this same issue in version 5.1.5. It will not send my email that I loaded from a template. Also, the "Message Preview" button does not work anymore.

Okay, we figured out why this issue occurs. The email template we were using (one we created) was full HTML and had a couple places where the background images didn't have full URL paths to them. So, apparently the Mass Mail Tool is parsing the email, and if images do not have full URL paths (a couple we overlooked had relative paths), it does as described:

"instantly shows the message "Email Sending Completed" without even running the loop for mail sending to each customer."

Once we corrected the image paths, with full URLs to the images, the email sent properly.

There needs to be an error message that displays, or some way of knowing you have a parsing error with your email. As it is now, it just says "Email Sending Completed" without actually sending the email.
