Hello again

As promised, this is the second layout. The main improvement here is the "Quick Order" feature, that allows you to place comparison boxes (and other) of your services on your homepage of WHMCS.

Its slightly different than the first one.

Home Page:

Client Area:

Invoices List:

This should win but with a template system like the Order Form Template we need a clientarea Template and a tab for it within the admin >> General Settings.

Here's a status update on where things are at currently:

During the competition as we were receiving the various entries and comments/opinions from users, it was decided that those comments were much more valuable than a simple vote system. Also the concern with a vote was that one design may have got more votes, but technical reasons may have meant it was not the best for WHMCS going forward. And so the idea of voting was scrapped.

So right now we're monitoring and taking on board all feedback, and we'll be getting in touch with the designer(s) we think have the best solutions for going forward next week.

And then following that, the latest plans right now are to release WHMCS V4.6 as a beta later this month, stable within a few weeks after that, and then the new design will be a few weeks after that. We're pretty excited about some of the stuff we have coming up in V4.6, and so we don't want one to overshadow the other. We don't ever set any dates in stone, so don't hold me to that, but that's the general idea.

Would it help to have a separate thread with a list of the designs available? Not quite sure if everyone will read through this one thread and find all the submissions available.

+2 - I agree. Some of the designs (even though as not winners) could be included or given/sold here also.

I thing whmcs need to have o separate "areas" when customer are login" and when the customer not login. I mean, customer have access to two custom parts. Admin Area and main Site.

I like: Brett, Professional and MGarden. Can work great for have 2 disting parts

But I only can give "a vote" go to: Brett

All others are great designs no doubt :)

I am really liking the design aspect of SM-John's work, it looks great. I like the buttons of Brett's design better, his design however is lacking the GUI for the end-user, looks extra simple.

If somehow John and Brett could work together, I think they both can have the perfect design. With John's ideas, and a little simplicity from Brett's work, and Brett's buttons, the end-user client area could look perfect.

Hey Everyone;

Here is my submission for the competition:

http://whmcsaddon.com/images/template_competition/whmcs_template_homepage.jpg

We completely removed the portal idea from the homepage. This is very web 1.0. Instead we replaced it with a nice looking area that will help sell your products, notify customers of announcements, and let them view your recent tweets.

http://whmcsaddon.com/images/template_competition/whmcs_template_homepage-loggedin.jpg

This is the same open concept as before just what is shown when a user is logged in.

http://whmcsaddon.com/images/template_competition/whmcs_template_account.jpg

We really cleaned up the account page. Made it simple. This only shows important information.

Whether or not the clients balance is paid up or needs to be paid your client will always know in a simple glimpse. We removed the unpaid invoice section as it really just did not belong on this page.

As well we added in a recent message section. This is a place where users can read or reply to recent ticket activity or recent emails sent out to them. This is a hybrid between viewing tickets and viewing emails.

We made it real simple for your users. Everything is nice and organized for your users convenience. Everything is in its own section and self explanatory.

We added a neat little quick buy feature for addons. Instead of showing the addons in the old fashion table style it is more practical to show your users all available addons for the product. This is to help you sell your addons. The idea behind this is that your users will be completely aware of what addons are available for them and with a single click can add or remove any addon.

And finally to top everything off, we spent a lot of time organizing the WHMCS menus:

http://screencast.com/t/jgxy4NvRfEF

After so many years of using WHMCS the one thing that always got to me personally was trying to get to the product page easily. The "Manage" menu allows your users to easily get to any of their products or services with you in a glimpse. This removes the need to click "My Products and Services" and then locate your product.

Hope you enjoy it ;)

Also nice. I love the look and organization for the products page.

Ok, after seeing all of the designs, I would like to vote for :

Brett- Simplicity, but professional and easy editing. Nice organization of things.

MGarden - Just outstanding. I'd love to have this one.

and SM-John- Just outstanding also and would love to have it also.

These three just completely rock the house. I would be happy with any of these.

Nice job guys.

Thanks again to everyone who entered - both via the thread and privately via email. It was a really tough decision in the end, but ultimately we had to pick just 1 winner and so the winner is.... Brett

We're pretty stacked in coding for the V4.6 release right now, but as soon as we have that out the way we'll move our focus onto the new design where we hope to come up with something truly new and modern for the next gen WHMCS installations.
