kers7754
I want to offer Domains Names, Hosting and email as my 3 main core products. When someone buys a domain name from me, I would like to offer different levels of email and different levels of hosting as an add on. I am providing hosting and email on my own dedicated server using cPanel. Is it possible to offer email products as an addon? Something like basic email (1 email address at your domain with 50MB of space), preferred email (up to 5 email accounts 1GB of total space) and business email, etc...? And is the same possible with hosting space? I see that cPanel allows me to set up my hosting space of any size with a number of email accounts and size, but can these be set up separately? I assume these addons can be added on at any time, is that true? Sorry for the beginner question; I am all new to this. Thanks, --Jeff
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted January 21, 2011 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted January 21, 2011 You can certainly configure cPanel to give email-only accounts, but there isn't a way as standard to have WHMCS provision that automatically when someone orders a domain name.
kers7754
So once a domain is paid for and that transaction is complete, there is no way to add on email and have WHMCS tell cPanel to auto provision that? Is that something that could be done manually when someone purchases email? Also, how does it work when someone buys a basic hosting package and wants to upgrade to a deluxe hosting package? Can WHMCS handle this without having to delete the contents of the basic hosting and create a new deluxe hosting?
zomex
Hello, If you login to WHM create a new feature list with just email related services enabled. Next create your email plans with varying space. You can now use WHMCS to auto create these accounts. Providing the account is on the same server and WHMCS is setup to automatically perform upgrades it will be fully automated without any loss of data. Also keep in mind that if you're using PayPal you'll also need to tick the 'allow users to modify subscription' box so their subscription price updates.
