corretje
Hi, I've got a problem with iWHMCS. When I enter my details en try to connect, the app just closes. When I tap it again all settings are gone and I have to start over again. This is really frustrating and it will not work... I've got a iPhone 4 running 4.1 and my WHMCS is up to date... Anyone got any ideas on what this might be and how to solve it? Thanks for the replies!
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted January 12, 2011 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted January 12, 2011 Please ensure you're using version 1.3.2 of the app released yesterday.
corretje
I am using the newest version of the app, my co-worker also has the same problem. Makes me think it is in our WHMCS system and not in the app itself... Any ideas?

corretje
So more people seem to have the same problem we have... I read somewhere about the characters already, which characters are giving errors and where are they? Maybe if I get rid of those characters it will work...
Grizzlyware Josh
Mine was throwing strange characters on the home page of iWHMCS but after updating to 4.4.2 it worked fine. It's still very buggy though, it seems to return a mix or several orders when you try to view one.
corretje
At least I am not the only one with the problem... I would like it to work, else I've paid for the addon while I am not able to use it. Anyone from WHMCS any ideas on what to try?

WHMCS CEO Matt Posted January 17, 2011 WHMCS CEO Share Posted January 17, 2011 I have the same problems the previous version had characters all wrong this one won't even load properly! At least I am not the only one with the problem...I would like it to work, else I've paid for the addon while I am not able to use it. Anyone from WHMCS any ideas on what to try? Same here, I updated to the latest release and it crashes before it even opens fully. It seems to be anyone who is not running the standard charset of UTF-8 in their WHMCS installation that is experiencing this problem. If you can change charset without affecting your data, do so in Setup > General Settings > Localisation, might need to also resave your currency symbols in Setup > Currencies after that, and that should resolve it for you. And for those that can't, I think we'll be pushing a new update to Apple later today (which unfortunately again will have to wait for them to review and approve before being available to download but nothing we can do about that) that removes the workaround we tried to put in for Apple's limited charset support & bad handling which clearly hasn't worked. Just to recap the background of the issue, the Apple XML parser only supports 7 charsets as standard, utf-8, iso-8859-1 & windows-1250 thru 1254. Anything other than that, and it gives up which results in a crash. In addition, any character it gets to and it can't parse in the provided charset, and it also crashes which is what we were trying to avoid happening - just displaying a ? for any unknowns is the goal. So in 1.3.1/2 we tried to implement some workarounds of our own but that's left it not even working for some of those standard charsets it did used to work with, so we'll be reverting those changes back and then look for an alternative ready for the next update. Mine was throwing strange characters on the home page of iWHMCS but after updating to 4.4.2 it worked fine. It's still very buggy though, it seems to return a mix or several orders when you try to view one. Haven't seen or had any other reports of that happening. What is showing up from other orders when viewing one? Matt

Nope still instantly crashes for me. Changed the charset to utf-8 on both my installations...
openmind
I take it back. I hadn't re-saved the currency and it now seems to be fine
corretje
I'm using the windows-1252 charset... If Apple allows that, it should work after the update for the app right? Let's first wait for that then, else I will try and change the charset to utf-8... Thanks Matt for the explanation!
champlainhost
I have a simple series of questions about the setup of iWHMCS on my iPhone... Adding a profile: Name - Does that have to match anything on record with WHMCS? URL - is that the URL of my WHMCS control panel? Username - no questions Password - no questions Access Key - Is that the same as my License Key that I got in an email when I first signed up? And does that include the 'WebHost-' part of the key at the beginning or do I just enter what comes after that?
