The 1.2.2 update which adds iOS4 compatability was submitted to Apple early last week - it's just waiting for them to approve it and then it will show up in the store for download so hopefully will be in time.

Glad to hear it, I just upgraded to iOS 4.0 today and found iWHMCS crashing! I would expect Apple are slightly overwhelmed with app updates at the moment, but hopefully it comes out soon.

Hi Guys,

I'd like to confirm that we have seen the obvious demand for an Android based mobile app for WHMCS and so it is something we've been looking into. Development is well underway now and I hope to have something to show you next week.

Regards

Matt

Unfortunately iWHMCS 1.2.2 still crashes on iOS4 (3Gs) ... I have more than 600 active orders ... and every time I want to see them, the app crashes (tried it on two phones so far ... both crash in the same manner) ...

PS1 also when trying to view Closed tickets (about 100 tickets in my database ...) I can conclude that the bigger the number of items to be displayed, the higher the likelyhood of the app crashing ...

PS2 Cancelled orders, although about 200 of them, get displayed ... but only the first page ... when trying to view second page it crashes again ...

This three crashes happen every time at the exact same point, on both iPhones i've tested ...

Hi,

The crashes occur when there is a character in the data returned from your WHMCS API that the iPhone XML interpreter cannot understand in the given charset. This commonly occurs in tickets submitted by email using a different charset when conversion hasn't been possible and more recently we've been finding that MaxMind can sometimes return special characters in the fraud check results to cause a problem on orders. If you open a ticket with us, it's usually simple enough to track down and remove the offending character.

Matt,

This is great, I've been finishing up my WHMCS config and I've been thinking "boy I'd like to get an android phone for my business; hmmm I wonder if it will work with WHMCS.

Ok, I'm patiently waiting...

Best regards,

Will

Hmmm... I understand, but what is the solution?

I mean, someone opens a tiket and uses some weird characters ... to respond to that ticket, I must go to my computer, delete/change the characters and then return to my iPone to responde? Doesn't make sense ... The whole point was to be able to responde when on the road/not in from of a computer ...

I will try to find a solution for this (server side I mean ... I am thinking AddDefaultCharset :?: )

I haven't read the full thread, but how about Blackberry? Is this something you guys will look into as well?

what i don't understand is this: why do people keep posting requests for android and blackberry apps here on a iWHMCS topic...??? isn't this an apple app?

i get notified of every new posting in here 'cause i am subscribed and i rush in to see what's posted new about iWHMCS....and surprise: it's about android and blackberry lately.

given the topic title...aren't those posts off-topic?

of course i can unsubscribe anytime but what's the point?

or you can open a topic regarding android or blackberry and post there.

thanks.

We're in the final stages of testing now and you can preview some screenshots of the Android App @ http://www.whmcs.com/androidapp.php

It is NOT available yet as that page indicates but we'll be releasing it very soon.

The iPhone & Android App will be developed in tandem going forward, and there are no plans for any specific apps for other devices at the current time.
