LeMarque
Not sure if this is a config issue with the NE1 mods or not, but I am receiving the e-mail and not my client. It is addressed to "6@secure.MYDOMAIN.net" and not to the client. The header follows: Return-path: <nmd@secure.MYDOMAIN.net> Envelope-to: client@clientemail.com Delivery-date: Mon, 27 Apr 2009 01:00:42 -0600 Received: from nmd by secure.MYDOMAIN.net with local (Exim 4.69) (envelope-from <nmd@secure.MYDOMAIN.net>) id 1LyKpu-0007jg-Bh; Mon, 27 Apr 2009 01:00:42 -0600 To: 6@secure.MYDOMAIN.net Subject: Upcoming Domain Renewal Notice Date: Mon, 27 Apr 2009 01:01:06 -0600 From: MYHOSTCO <techsupport@mydomain.com> Message-ID: <2f2db0fdc4a2c296072964127eded268@localhost.localdomain> X-Priority: 3 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="b1_2f2db0fdc4a2c296072964127eded268" Any ideas where to look appreciated
apollo1
I am also experiencing something very similar to this. I have a client who has about 8 or so domains needing to be renewed in May. So this morning I am looking at his email message log and see that WHMCS has not sent him even a single upcoming domain renewal notice. I find that strange, so I look in the entire email activity log and see that the upcoming domain renewal reminders were sent -- but to DIFFERENT clients!! Argh!! When I open the domain renewal emails (the ones sent to the incorrect client) they start off with "Dear 3 3 (3)" or "Dear 6 6 (6)". So the user who in fact owns the domains, has received no renewal reminders. Different clients were informed they needed to renew domains which they don't even own. I think I should trust my billing system to at least send emails to the right people, so I consider this a very serious problem. Has anyone ever encountered this? LeMarque
Curious to know if NE1 is your registrar. I'm wondering if I've got something wrong in the NE1 mods.
apollo1
Curious to know if NE1 is your registrar. I'm wondering if I've got something wrong in the NE1 mods. Nope, I am not with NE1. I don't even receive these domain renewal notices. It looks (according to the email activity log) that they were sent to different clients of my company. It appears to be a problem in the function which is responsible for triggering this email.. the cron job I would imagine, but I don't really quite know what to check. The settings in the domain records and the user record all appear to be ok.
apollo1
It would be great to hear from anyone with ideas/suggestions regarding the Dear 6 6 6, so I'll be watching this thread closely.
apollo1
LeMarque - I forgot to mention, and this may apply to you as well. In my case this only appears to be happening with all domain records I added manually on behalf of clients, using the "ADD NEW ORDER" function from within WHMCS admin. For all the other domains which were purchased normally from my site, I don't have this problem.
bagfull
Same issue here. Dear 1 1, Dear 2 2 ... mails not being sent. A big issue here.

apollo1
Same issue here. Dear 1 1, Dear 2 2 ... mails not being sent. A big issue here. Yep still happening here too. It's very serious. Just sifting through my email activity log now and I see a few reminders and notices sent for domain renewals, but to completely different clients. As much as I hate to say this, it seems WHMCS isn't as reliable or bug-free as I thought it was. I've got a guy who has about 10 domains expiring in the next 2 weeks, and he probably doesn't know a thing about it.
magga
It's a known bug... upgrade to V3.8.2 or open a ticket and they will send you a corrected file.

websync
I just found out that I am having the same problem too. Renewal notices sent to (Dear 6 6 6 ) customer who doesn't own them. While the customer who does - gets nothing!
Lawrence
I would say it is due to either a corruption in your WHMCS database (caused by MySQL) or a bug in the older version of WHMCS you guys are using. Although, I have run all previous version from 3.6 and never experienced this. Perhaps the bug is triggered by a PHP update? What version are you guys using? 5.2.10? 5.3.0 (5.3.0 changes some stuff and may be a potential cause).
websync
So far, I have updated WHMCS from v3.8.1 to v3.8.2 - then put in a ticket. I will be updating to v4 soon, hopefully that will solve the issue either way. Running PHP 5.2.6
