juksells
Okay, so we recently implemented Google Checkout on our website and we're very disappointed and shocked with the results ... We only had 2 orders proccessed through it and they both got cancelled by Google for fraud, good thing, I thought to myself. But, today I tried to connect to my merchant account only to find out it has been terminated without warning or notice, they also refuse to tell us why it got terminated...We are very aware of their ToS as we are of PayPal's also, and I can't think of anything we could've done to cause this. We activated Google Checkout on WHMCS and then placed a logo on our website to let our customers know they could pay using that gateway, that's all we did. The way Google handles any issue is completely ridiculous and unprofessional, the least they could do is give us an explanation for their actions. I wanted to share this with all of you to see if this has happened before and also to warn others about the way Google treats it's merchants and handles their business... juksells
I'm sure you do...however that does not mean this will not happen to your company in the future without notice or explanation:( I hope it never does.

juksells
They finally told me why they terminated my account with no warning or even a notice......wait for it.................They said they didn't like my account user name! wich is my gmail name "jukdabomber7@gmail.com"...What is wrong with it? I don't know...TO HELL WITH GOOGLE..good luck to all of you that still use it.
Daniel
We've been using it for a while now and it takes few hundred transactions a day without a problem. Still, we're going to ditch it at some point and use something else as they take too long to verify details sometimes. We've had clients wait 5 hours for their account to be setup before due to Google.
chickendippers
It's not a very professional account name to use. Create one with your company name and try again.
juksells
It's not a very professional account name to use. Create one with your company name and try again. I understand this, but it said I should use my gmail account, so I did...but why not tell me to change it? They just terminated my account and didn't even tell me or warned me! or give me the reason until I sent them 12 emails...and now they are saying I even can't make a new account no matter what:(...Honestly I don't want to bash on Google for the hell of it, but this is ridiculous and very unprofessional imo. If they didn't like my username, a simple email would have fixed it. Still, good luck to all of you that still use and I hope you never have any problems. PhilB
I wouldn't touch google checkout with a barge pole after they started demanding faxed copies of driving licences and credit cards when I first tried to buy something through them - suffice to say I used the retailers regular payment method instead. uberhost
Risk? LOL. Have an offensive email address and Google doesn't want you. Have a professional email address and you'll be their friend and save money compared to PayPal. If you need to beware of anything, it is using an immature email address when you sign up with Google Checkout.

My point was....They could have at least emailed me about it and asked me to change it, not terminate my account without notice or warning. If you would not be upset if this was your case, then you're a liar...Think about that before you start making claims about immaturity.

Sure I'd be upset, but mostly at myself for thinking that an email address containing the work "bomber" would be suitable for transactions. tomdchi
although I can see where someone MAY find the email offensive, Who cares. This is a US company last I could tell and did not mind letting him have the email address oh and don't forget that free speech thing. How in the world would they know if it wasn't just his name or something. Unprofessional to use, maybe, terminate a account over it, stupid. It reminded me of a story I read a few days ago. http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080828-uk-banking-giant-de-pants-irate-customer-over-password.html
charliez
I agree with you in the freedom of speech issue, but dont go saying bomb or bomber on a public place like an airport or you will end up in federal custody for quite some time...!!! so much for free speech... It's a business, freedom of speech doesn't apply here. You can't walk into the Pepsi headquarters, get up on a platform and start announcing that Coke is better than Pepsi. You have absolutely no right to do that either and you could very well be arrested. No one has the right to go on my property and try to convince me that which Presidential Candidate I should vote for, what religion is the best, etc. No freedom of speech there either. You have no right to post on the forums here saying that people should be purchasing a competing product, no freedom of speech here either. If Google doesn't like a username or email address, they have every right to ban it. There may even be something in the TOS about it. No freedom of speech applies there either. I don't know...TO HELL WITH GOOGLE..good luck to all of you that still use it. As a legitimate business, it is vital that you project an image that shows that you are a legitimate business. If you want to be taken seriously as a business, you must look like a business, and that includes the e-mail you use. And the e-mail you chose does not give the impression of a "legitimate business" but rather gives the impression of an "amateur doing business that may or may not be a *." I hope I am not sounding too harsh, but business partners, vendors and customers look closely at a company's image, and any little thing can make them run away. A sad, but true reality of doing business. Also, keep in mind that your presentation as a business and a business person directly effects sales. The more professional and business-like you look, the more people will trust your business will do what you are advertising you will do. Good luck. dkent
I use Google Checkout, although it's not great. Google doesn't let you use the same Google Checkout account for more than one website. They will ask you to make a new account, BUT you must have a different address. I have a business account with them, I have a UK account linked with my UK website. I am not able to have another account and link it to my US site unless I have a US postal address! There are quite a few restrictions using Google Checkout. As for orders, I wasted my time signing up with Google because I have had no orders go through it, everyone is happy using PayPal.
VicToMeyeZR
Hey if anything, I thought the Democratic Party was the most terrorist-loving, non-racist party in the US, and since GOOGLE is owned by one of the biggest democrats, "Al Gore", you should just tell them you are going to report them for discrimination to the Republican Party leaders.
