apollo1
Anyone using Chrome know how bookmarks are handled? Are they html file based like ff, ie folder like, or is it yet another new format? Knowing Google and how they like to push certain concepts (ie. labels in gmail vs. folders), I wouldn't be surprised if it's some new format.
brianr
I believe they are stored in an SQLite DB, along with the history and several other things.
BAJI26
I won't be switching anytime soon, seems a bit well, "chromeless" compared to FF and all of its addons. It will take at least the firebug addon to get me to even consider it. Though, I do wonder if all that support they threw at Mozilla will come back to them some how. Or maybe thats what we are seeing now with this launch. It already has a Firebug function there, its called "Inspect Element". Right Click on a page and its the last option.
Methinks
Has anyone had this to happen using chrome.... I went to my clients area and the login was already in the box email and password. but it was for my last client who logged in. I had been working with this customer and do not think I signed in as him. I would normally go in through the log in as client to help them. But when I just opened a chrome browser to check what my site looked like with chrome there was his info in the boxes. I have gotten accustomed to the browser saving my info in boxes now although I do not like it and am trying to figure out how to make it stop. But if by using the log in as client feature of my whmcs it saves whichever clients info in the box I am not sure this is wonderful. I should mention I have not had it to do this a second time with a different client.
MACscr
Thanks for the info, so does Roboform support Chrome already? I'm using FF3 and I do find it lightning fast as well, but I may try out Chrome if it works with Roboform. As far as all the add-ons and maturity of FF, you just can't beat it. Beat it, beat it, No One Wants To Be Defeated.. lol Maybe im crazy, but i would never use something like roboform.

uberhost
So Mac you keep all your passwords etc on 3x5 cards or what.... just kidding... :) well a little bit anyway... One thing I have no doubt about is MACscr's ability to keep his passwords secure, and to use keys instead of passwords where possible.

Baja
It already has a Firebug function there, its called "Inspect Element". Right Click on a page and its the last option. Cool thanks, but I don't think its quite up to firebug yet. More of an advanced view source. Is there and actual "inspect" like in firebug? If so I didn't see it. There are also a few firebug addons like Firecookie and FirePHP which are nice if you mess with that kind of stuff. Like I said, I like Firefox for the most part for it's addons which might find there way over to chrome eventually and then I will consider giving it a closer look.
rjsorto
Just remember that chorme is still developing, i do like the speed and all, and i bet it will be amazing when it reaches its 1.x version, but, it will still be that fast?
WisTex
I had my electric company's website identify Chrome as Safari (which makes sense since they both use the same rendering engine) and tell me that Safari may not work for some features of their site. I proceeded anyway and despite the warning that my browser may not work, everything on their website worked fine. I've been pretty satisfied with it. When I am working on my own website I usually use FireFox since I use some of the FireFox addons during development. But for regular surfing I am using Chrome now. For most websites it appears faster, and it does give more space for the web page, which is nice. I like the tabs and being able to rip a tab off one window and put it in another. I really like that since I use more than one monitor and like being able to move windows & tabs around. Overall, thumbs up. I won't be giving up my FireFox, but I will be using Chrome all the time too.

Mr-Host.com
And here. That would be a problem with your server/chrome setup.
Vger
My few thoughts on Chrome, so far: 1. Yes, it's fast. 2. A friend liked it so much he made it his default browser - after which is PC promptly crashed and he had the devil of a job getting rid of all elements to get his PC running properly again. 3. Unlike Firefox it has the same problem as IE with being unable to download large files - IE 7 cannot download anything above 4 Gigs and IE 6 nothing above 2 Gigs (Firefox has no problem whatever the file size). JohnJ
I used Chrome for about a week. I stopped using it after finding out how horrible it deals with animations. Once they fix this, I'll be using it again.
dkent
I use Google Chrome as my main browser. However, I have come across some very annoying problems whilst using it over the past six weeks. Good points: 1. Renders pages faster than Internet Explorer with the ability to move tabs anywhere. 2. The most important buttons (Home, Refresh etc) are in a good position. 3. Chrome's ability to import all bookmarks from IE and easier access/edit options. Bad points: 1. Unable to "send" a private message via BlogTV using Chrome 2. When watching video on sites such as YouTube, the Browser does not cope with the video and causes it to stop. Therefore I recommend using Chrome only on good laptops/pc's that have good RAM. 3. There are so many processes for Google Chrome therefore using a lot of memory.

WisTex
I have problems in Chrome with Flash and PDFs. But other than that, it works fine.
dkent
Yes, me too. I keep having problems with Flash and PDF's in Google Chrome too. I have stopped using Chrome (and actually uninstalled it) because I kept getting errors when trying to watch videos on YouTube. I love Google, but it's browser just isn't there yet. It's not very feature rich. I'm sticking with my lovely Safari I never get problems with it, although isn't as fast as Firefox, but it'll do.
WisTex
LOL. You would think that Google Chrome would work with Google's YouTube.
