new Automatic Backup 3.6.2 (what am I missing?)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have the daily cron running on my server for all other automatic processes, and have added my email address and details of another ftp server but neither of them appear to be taking place when the cron runs. What am I missing?

Thanks

Si

If it isn't working, unless the issue is the cron timing out, you should find an error message recorded in the activity log at the time of the cron run - eg. if the email sending failed, ftp login failed, etc...

Hi Matt,

Nothing recorded like that in the Activity Log. All it shows is the invoices sent, the upcoming domain renewals etc etc. Then at the end, 'cron job run'. No errors or backups (email or ftp) attempted. ?

I am seeing the same as Simon.... (3.6.2)

No errors, just that cron has run, and I am using the email database option, and I dont recieve the backup dumped to email. I do get all other emails from WHMCS without problems.

I get the email from cron saying how many credit cards were run, suspensions, invoices created, etc...

Hi,

I just wanted to add, as it's been a few days from I replied on this thread, that I still have not managed to see any activity in the backup options. Either email or ftp.

Hi Matt,

I have the same situation with the automatic backup running with the daily cron job. I found no errors in the activity logs; but when I ran the cron manually, it successfully ran, showing up in the Activity log, the backup appeared in the directory on the server and I received an email. Again, this occurred only when I manually ran the script.

Yesterday I added the email option.

Today I received an email containing a zip file, but when I unzipped it the sql file it contained had nothing in it. (0kb)

So, I can see why the FTP backups aren't working - the file is empty.

But I don't know what to do to fix it. There are no errors in the logs.
