Peppol e-invoicing roadmap urgency - Belgium B2B mandate now in effect

WHMCS 9.0 is now in General Availability (Jan 20, 2026), but the planned Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 e-invoicing add-on remains "coming soon" with no ETA.  For those of us operating in Belgium, this is now a critical compliance blocker.

The Issue:
Belgium mandated B2B structured e-invoicing via the Peppol network effective 1 January 2026.  Invoices can no longer be issued in traditional formats, they must be exchanged through Peppol. We cannot delay invoicing any further while waiting for WHMCS native support.

Previous Guidance:
WHMCS Technical Analyst stated in mid-December:  "The e-invoicing functionality will be released as an addon that will be available shortly after v9.0 GA (in January)." Now that v9.0 GA has shipped, this guidance appears to have shifted to "coming soon" with no timeline???

Questions for the WHMCS Team:
1. Is the January add-on still planned, and will it include Peppol BIS Billing 3.0?
2. If not, what interim WHMCS-recommended solution should we use to issue compliant invoices immediately?

For others in the same situation: If you have found a working interim solution or Marketplace module that handles Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 invoicing within WHMCS, please share your experience below.

Work to implement our e-invoicing solution with direct integration with the Peppol network (BIS Billing 3.0) is in progress.

We are currently in the final stages of polishing the integration and conducting rigorous testing. Given the critical importance of financial compliance, we are prioritising stability to ensure the solution is robust upon release in Q1 2026.

I've been following this thread with growing frustration, because I'm in the same boat: I run a hosting company on WHMCS myself.

I'm a Dutch developer and I've been building WHMCS integrations for my own company for years, so I'm seriously considering solving this for all of us instead of waiting any longer. The whole point would be that you get to stay on WHMCS: no switching billing software, no re-entering invoices in an external platform.

What I have in mind for v1:

- Sends invoices and credit notes as Peppol BIS 3.0 through a certified access point
- Triggers when the invoice is issued, not when it's paid (which is what the Belgian mandate actually requires)
- Recipient lookup before sending, with email fallback and a compliance warning if the customer isn't on Peppol yet
- Status dashboard with delivery/rejection status and retries
- No separate access point account or contract needed, document bundle included

And the good news: this won't take long for us to publish.

I did look at invoro since it was mentioned earlier in this thread, and to be fair it might work for some. But a few things made me decide it's not the answer for my own company: it's an external platform rather than a WHMCS module (their site lists WHMCS as "available" but I couldn't find an actual module or any integration docs), the company is very young (their own terms still reference their launch earlier this year), and at €39/month for 150 invoices the per-invoice price gets steep once you have any volume. What I want is something that lives inside WHMCS, fires automatically on invoice issue, and doesn't depend on forwarding emails to a third platform.

This is an important update for businesses operating in Belgium. The transition to mandatory B2B e-invoicing will require companies to prepare their invoicing systems in advance. Hopefully, the WHMCS roadmap will provide clear guidance and timely updates to help businesses meet the new requirements.

Why you want to build something that is already built by someone else, and most likely on a level you couldnt reach. Do you know the requirements for being a Peppol member ? Trust me they aint neither cheap nor easy, hence also why WHMCS will never become one and only do the minimal, and make the XML part, but thats the easy part, actually shipping this XML out into the Peppol network is whole other thing.

Invoro.eu ( a friend of mine) Already built the whole platform, is a Peppol member (Which costs around 30k Euro yearly, so as i told it aint easy nor cheap) And his service is already online and working for WHMCS, its just installing his module, and signing up for his service.
