URGENT: Oops Sodium Error

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I encountered an error while using WHMCS and I'm hoping someone can help me. Whenever I try to act, I get the following error message:Screenshotfrom2023-05-1516-10-45.thumb.png.6f39b9c31126a7c533abba8d45a2f5e2.png

I believe the issue is related to the missing dynamic library 'sodium.so', which the system cannot load. I've checked the specified path in the error message, and it indeed doesn't exist. This could be the reason why WHMCS is unable to process my request.

Has anyone else experienced this error before? If so, I would greatly appreciate any guidance on how to resolve it. Is there a way to install or enable my server's 'sodium.so' library? I'm using WHMCS with PHP version 7.4.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi there,

This error relates to an issue with your server's PHP configuration, therefore I recommend contacting your server admin/hosting provider to investigate and correct this.

I've located the following resource for cPanel which may be relevant if that's your environment: https://support.cpanel.net/hc/en-us/articles/14191689268375-How-to-Install-the-Sodium-Cryptographic-Library-libsodium-and-PHP-Extension-on-AlmaLinux-8-and-CloudLinux-8
