Stuck installing WHMCS : Using PHP8 - ioncub requires PHP5.

Recommended Posts

So I am stuck trying to install WHMCS.  In order to complete the setup process you need to run ioncub, but it only workds with PHP 5.x or earlier.  My CentOS servers are running PHP8.  I can't seem to find documentation on how to downgrade and besides,  It looks like PHP5 hasn't been supported for the past 5 years.  What should I do?  Assume I can get php5 to run,  will WHMCS, WHM and Cpanel even run with such an old version?  And isn't php5 loaded with security issues?

Any help is appreciated - thanks in advance.
