i'd be checking the logs as suggested to see if that's giving any clues - the TLD looks to be priced correctly to me, so I doubt that's the issue.

are you using a registrar as a lookup provider, or namespinning/whois ? any chance the domain already exists in your database and block existing domains is enabled in settings ??

I can see this occurring on your site (but only for the above domain, not any other .us domain), but i've been unable to reproduce it locally in v7.10/v8/v8.1 using whois or namespinning.

I'm using my registrar as a lookup provider. The domain is not exists in my database.

I tried to refresh the page, I found the domain available, I refreshed the page again, I received the same error again 🙂
