Damo
Hello, The Notification Setup isn't showing any private channels. I've the permissions as follows (based on the config guide) But at this stage https://docs.whmcs.com/Notifications#Creating_a_Notification_Rule the only channels visible are Public. Is there something else required to get it seeing the private channels?
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted October 1, 2020 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted October 1, 2020 Hi @Damo, A restriction of the Slack API means that bots cannot join Private Channels. Please invite the bot to your private channel via the Slack app. You should then be able to specify the private channel when creating the rule.
Damo
Thanks @WHMCS John that was simple to do. And its name does appear with the * as per the docs. You should add this step is required for private channels. Oddly, we didn't have to do this with the SupportPal notifications bot.
Damo
Now when adding the notification I get the prompt, it then fails but the rule appears in the Notification Rules list. Not a very informative error message!

Damo
Nothing gets logged when I recreate the error. I tried both logging, displaying and both for good measure.
