Mark Coates
Hi all i am unable to change the password for cpanel account via the clients product screen in the admin area. when you come to change the password and click on change its looks like its busy but nothing else happens after this it just gets stuck and looks busy. I have tried other things like suspending the account (same account) to test and this is fine, its just the password change it will not do. any help would be great :)
Remitur
Password strength issue, maybe? (that's to say: the password generated by WHMCS is not enough robust to be accepted by cpanel) You can also enable module logging ( utilities -> logs -> module log ) and then maybe you'll have further details...
WHMCS ChrisD
@Mark Coates Can you enable your module log under Utilites > Logs > Module Logs, try to change password then check the module logs for any errors
Mark Coates
hi @WHMCS ChrisD i enabled this and it worked when i changed the password which is confusing as enabling the debug was literally the only thing i did. I think it maybe something to do with the strength also which @Remitur mentioned.

Enabling the log should not cause that, can you keep it enabled for a few days and see if you can capture it when the error reoccurs?

WHMCS Technical Analyst II WHMCS Alex Posted June 27, 2019 WHMCS Technical Analyst II Share Posted June 27, 2019 Hello @Mark Coates, Are you familiar with using developer tools within web browsers, such as Chrome? https://developers.google.com/web/tools/chrome-devtools/ If so, can you please use the "Change Password" module command button on a service whilst observing the response within the "Network" tab? Please advise on the "Status Code" seen. Thanks!
