Suggestions requested for adding multiple WHMCS products/services to invoices

Greetings,

We are looking for a few creative ways to overcome WHMCS Mobile App limitations to allow us in adding multiple products to an invoice. Here is the scenario;

We offer a lot more than just webhosting, one of the services we offer is small office network & application support for local businesses.  So  when we get a call for service our office takes the call and opens a ticket on behalf of the client. One of our Techs gets notified of the ticket and responds, many times what the Tech needs to do is add parts from their trucks that are not included on the initial ticket. This means that they have to add multiple items to an invoice with a SKU number, from their cell phones. The WHMCS App is extremely limited and can only add one item at a time, if the Techs use the website they can add multiple items (a bit painfully) however because we have about 600 products added to inventory you can only scroll through the products list and cannot type and have any intelligent completion of the product query auto populate. Since the Techs are paid by the call and all calls are paid at the time of the visit the longer they have to sit on site dealing with adding items to the invoice one at a time the less money they make and the more unhappy they get.

We have been able to successfully adapt a great many WHMCS features into our business model but we're struggling to find a way for our Techs to easily and quickly add multiple items to an invoice so they can generate the invoice and and take payment all while on-site. If anyone has any creative suggestions, possibly an Add-on they have seen or just advice we would  appreciate the input.

Thanks for taking the time to read all this!

Sounds like you need an addon module that lists all the products, has a checkbox next to each product, fields for the client id, etc and a button at the bottom with "Create invoice with all checked items".  That addon then uses the API to creates an invoice with all the checked SKUs.  If the SKUs aren't in WHMCS as a product, the addon would need to have a option to store them .  Depending on your use case, might be better to do a order with all the items if they are WHMCS products than say an invoice.

Do not have enough direct experience with other developers for WHMCS addons to recommend.  Don't know if @brian! does custom dev or not but he seems to know WHMCS pretty good and active within this community.  Posting in the requests community would be your first step and then you can filter out from there.

absolutely - even if this were a project I was interested in quoting for (sadly I don't have the time for such a project), I couldn't tell you here anyway (against the rules) - so, as steven says, you would need to post in Service Offers & Requests and wait for the replies to come in...

actually, I think the official WHMCS line is that because you have already created this thread, you shouldn't create a new thread in Service Offers & Requests, but should instead report your own post here (yeah!) and ask a moderator to move this thread to Service Offers & Requests...

at that point, interested developers will be happy to reply to the thread, inviting you to visit their websites to complete a quotation form... 🦅

I can pretty much tell you now who the 3 or 4 developers who will reply to the thread will be (modulesgarden, wgs, wsa and possibly Nathanael)... aka the usual suspects... others might contact you by PM.

The advice is much appreciated, I am sure that the image is exactly appropriate too!

I had no idea I was going to end up moving to a custom module request when I started this thread, I was actually hoping someone might be able to suggest a work-around so I'll have to ask the Mods for forgiveness ;)
