Manually add a premium domain

I have found the method to manually add a domain (https://docs.whmcs.com/Importing_Data#Manual_Domain_Only_Entry), but what do we do with premium domains... first i get an error (TLD/Extension not configured for sale. Please check your input before continuing.) but setting up this domain and set pricing will be an issue since it depends on the domain.

With no response here I have opened a ticket that referred me back to set up the domain manually. This in turn puts me into a situation where I can not add the domain because it is a premium domain with a dynamic price.

my inclination was to suggest opening a ticket... as I can't recall anyone mentioning how to do this previously.... but if Support don't know... 🙄

adding it manually as a "normal" domain is probably not a bad suggestion though as a first step - it will at least get the domain into WHMCS.

once added, you may be able to edit the tbldomains record for the domain, change the is_premium value to '1' and that should let WHMCS know that it's a premium domain.

however, i'm not sure that gets you any further as I don't know if WHMCS has a method to pull a premium renewal price other than when registering one... I don't think either of the premium domain hooks can pull a renewal price - but Support would (should?) be able to confirm that.

in any event, WHMCS open supports Premium domains managed by eNom, or one of the LogicBoxes resellers... so if this domain is from another registrar, then there may be nothing you can do about this anyway.

Premium Pricing details are kept in tbldomains_extra. Where the registrar prices have to be added accordingly. Premium Domains are such a pain in WHMCS...

Premium Domain Transfers for example are completely broken (they are getting added with standard price to shopping cart). I reported this as bug (confirmed!) over a year ago.

They never fix existing feature bug ...

tbh, they are interested in fixing bugs (and they do), just a matter of priorities set. If the upvotes of a feature request point out a higher demand than working on a bugfix (number of customers reporting it), I can understand why it is getting higher prio.
Still, getting reported bugs fixed is also important - espically for affected people. No question.
