WHMCS CEO Matt Posted December 11, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted December 11, 2007 ok, great! where do i enable the kayako stuff? Hi Dean, I have been told that all you need to do is check the /integrate/ folder of your SupportSuite or eSupport package for the files and instructions. It's just a few files you have to drop into various WHMCS folders. http://v3manual.whmcs.com/?id=170 Matt
DeanClinton
Ok, I have SupportSuite, and have no integrate folder.
Chrisw
I think Kayako said the support was in the CVS releases We shall see.
DeanClinton
Ok, so you are telling me that it's being advertised with Kayako Support, when it's not released yet? Am I the only one confused by it all?
bear
Integrate exists in the latest download (just grabbed it), but only has Modernbill integration. Off to ask about it on Kayako.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted December 11, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted December 11, 2007 Ok, so you are telling me that it's being advertised with Kayako Support, when it's not released yet? Am I the only one confused by it all? As Chris said earlier, Kayako have released the integration files in their CVS release build system. They don't make new releases as often as we do so you have to use the CVS for the latest versions of files. You can access them from your Kayako client area as far as I'm aware. DeanClinton
Ok, so do I only need the integrate folder, or do I have to replace my working kayako with a beta version?
bear
And for those of us unfamiliar with CVS build usage (no way I'm installing a Kayako Beta, thank you), how does one use them? Went to download and saw this: Oh, my.
DeanClinton
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. There is no way i'm installing a beta.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted December 11, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted December 11, 2007 Hi, I was not aware of any BETA release of the integration files. I have been told by Varun & Jamie that it is ready for you all to use. Maybe you don't need the entire update - and it's just some files out the CVS you need. I've emailed Jamie for clarification and hopefully he'll be able to post here to clear up any confusion. Matt
bear
Pretty sure we know it's not your end, Matt. Looking forward to the resolution here.
Chrisw
I was under the assumption that nothing was changed in Kayako. They only created the files for whmcs to talk to kayako. However, with my assumption, I thought I could simply upload the files that is provided by kayako. I was wrong. Matt, has this been tested with your new version because when I upload the templates overwriting them with the ones kayako provided I still see the default WHMCS ticket templates. Yes I cleared templates_c
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted December 11, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted December 11, 2007 You also have to activate it in General Config > Support > Ticket Module Matt
Chrisw
Thanks Matt! I'm one step closer. Submit ticket from the client area provides a blank page, but the Support Ticket is redirecting to kayako. I'm going to re-upload everything just make sure I didn't forget anything
DeanClinton
So, what do we need to do?
Jamie Edwards
Taken from the Kayako forums: Hi there, [WHMCS integration on Kayako's side] will be released officially with 3.11.02, but is available now in our CVS builds. The current CVS build is currently being tested and primed for our next stable release, 3.11.02 - so should be find to run. As always though, please take a backup. 3.11.02 should not be more than one or two weeks away. The current CVS build is available to all customers with an active support package, and can be found under the Builds tab.
zigzam
I would never use a CVS build. Last few times I tried them I had many bugs. I learned my lesson. Can the files just be uploaded from the integrate folder?
visualfast
i m using SupportSuite v3.11.01 what i do?
neobug103
Kayako is running the cvs build however I am having the same issue as the person stated above is having, it displays a blank page when trying to click knowledgebase or submit a ticket link in client area of whmcs
visualfast
Kayako CVS build is available to all customers with an active support package so its mean i need to purchase kayako support package first to download new CVS ?
bear
Kayako CVS build is available to all customers with an active support package so its mean i need to purchase kayako support package first to download new CVS ? Unfortunately, it would appear so. To offer this to anyone as a download would be breaking the AUP/TOS for Kayako. Those with a current support period there can grab this as well as the latest Kayako build(s).
DeanClinton
Ok, I'm going to wait for a new build from Kayako. In the mean time, how does it work - I mean do I add my clients to Kayako aswell? What happens with clients registered in both systems?
Chrisw
Yeah, I would advise everyone to wait. CVS version is giving a little picky error on the index. Loginshare doesnt seem to work. Although, from WHMCS, everything works fine, but since I use a sub-domain for whmcs and kayako I get the "domain mismatch" error from kayako when viewing or resplying to tickets. neobug103
That is because you installed kayako wrong. I get no errors on my installation and I get no domain mismatch error.
