easyhosting
Hi I have noticed over recent upgrades that when a support ticket is opened that the IP address of the sender is no longer displayed. This was handy as when a spam ticket is received it was easy to use the IP of that sender to block the IP and IP range from the server, as it is received in a ticket then they leave no email header to locate the originators IP. Why was this feature removed?
brian!
Why was this feature removed? are you sure that it was? whenever I open a ticket on the v7.2.3 dev, it shows the IP in the body of the message. I was recently asked to write some Smarty (one line) that would remove it from the v7.2 output... so it must be being added by default in order for me to be asked to find a way to remove it.

brian!
The IP does not show in any of my tickets and i use 7.2.3. i just sent a test ticket and no IP displayed if I login as a client (even via the admin area), then the IP address is added to the opened ticket... the only time I can see an IP address not being added is if the admin creates the new ticket... which I guess is fair enough, as they should know their own IP. if only there was a publicly accessible demo where you could test this on a clean installation! even the Softaculous WHMCS demo is broken! I assume there's nothing template/hook wise that could be removing this ??
bear
Just tested on my dev install, logged in as a client, and it definitely shows the IP. Latest WHMCS.
AffordableDomainsCanada
I am NOT seeing an IP address in my admin or client area, tested with Blend and V4 admin themes.. Decided to look back at some tickets and I see in Feb an IP address was being added to tickets.. I dont know when this stopped. - - - Updated - - - After some further testing I figured it out! An IP address is added if the client or guest opens a ticket directly from your site, if its submitted via email, NO IP address is added.
