Sybille
If a customer upgrades a product and adds a new option, which includes setup and monthly costs, WHMCS doesn’t charge the setup fees. The customer will only be charged for the monthly costs. Does anyone has and solution for this issue? Many thanks in advanced. WHMCS ChrisD
Hi Sybille, I would recommend preventing them from Upgrading to this by removing the product from the Upgrade/Downgrade Options
twhiting9275
You could put a hook in to check upgrades based on a table and automatically create the invoice for the fee.

Sybille I suspect its related to the point that most people probably don't want to charge setup free on upgrades but only on sign up. The user is upgrading the account, not buying a new one, that is why the word is setup, in that case the account/service or product is already setup, you are not setting up a new one. I suspect what you require is charge some management or activation fee for the new option, in that case you are probably better adding it separately instead of a setup and I would not call it setup fee either. You can probably do this with a hook or API that detects a package plan or upgrade and then adding the corresponding fee to the invoice.
