DBH Web
OK due to the fact that no matter what I type in the Temporary Path with the automatic update it won't accept it, I just did a manual update from version 7 to 7.1.0 all went fine and everything seems to be functioning correctly except that the dashboard is empty ( see image below ) Any body experienced the same? UPDATE: I just tried the automatic update on Version 7.1.0 and it worked so now updated to 7.1.1 but still have an empty dashboard? twhiting9275
Clear your cache, should resolve that admin -> utilities -> system -> system cleanup , empty template cache Then clear your browser cache and if necessary all other browser data.

Damo
Try using the Blend admin theme instead.
DBH Web
Try using the Blend admin theme instead. By doing this it worked with both Blend and V4, however I am using a custom template so what would I do to get it to work?
Damo
You'd need to contact the author of the theme, or review the code changes yourself and update your theme accordingly.

Damo
There have been significant changes made to the admin area. Did you try turning error reporting on to see if it spits out anything more useful/specific?
twhiting9275
It's not working because you haven't updated your template to work with v7.1 (or v7). A ton of work went in, especially related to widgets. Take a look at admin/templates/blend/homepage.tpl , compare it with your homepage.tpl and go from there.
