Sell professional email, using my own custom domain

What do you recommend? Any tips or advice?

 

I would favor, using one of my own domains, and not have to use a third party extension like Rackspace or Zimbra or even eNom.

What if I pickup a domain, that is desirable, say, something like "localsportsteam.com" and fans can purchase email accounts for $1 and that $1 goes to a charity of their choice... I wouldn't say there is a problem, perhaps my ignorance is just getting the best of me.

 

My desire is to just sell email plans, nothing extra... is this something i can already do but I just didn't know it? A typical visitor flow be something like this:

 

• Visitor lands on professional email page

• Add to cart and checkout

• Redirected to a page to tell them to point domain MX records

• They can manage email address' without having to use cPanel

• In clientare.php on WHMCS backend, there is a section called "Quick Create Email Account"

• KABOOM!

you can have your own provisioning module integrated with cPanel or any other software to provide this, so yes is possible

 

• They can manage email address' without having to use cPanel

manage like (Change Password, Upgrade, Cancel, etc)? yes

client area or backend? isn't this a feature of cPanel

yes, manage exactly like you say. this email hosting service would ONLY provide email, nothing extra that cpanel offers, like hosting, file manager, etc..

• client area - there is a mini-feature already, but it uses cpanel

 

i just though, for some reason, to give client access to cpanel would be overkill, if all they use is email service. it might even create heavy server load, not needed.however, i understand how powerful cpanel so maybe i shouldn't concern myself with anything but results.
