ody
After installing 6.2.2, we have many domain search issues like do not conect from home page to domainchecker.php or into host pages do not search for new registration/transfer/own domain, we find out that if we set not all TLDs domains to search system works but if we set all of them (about 80 TLDs) system stucks and giving us this message, Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Illuminate\Database\QueryException' with message 'SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 2006 MySQL server has gone away (SQL: select * from `tblproductgroups` where `hidden` = 0 order by `order` asc) (SQL: select * from `tblproductgroups` where `hidden` = 0 order by `order` asc)' in /home/public_html/includes/classes/WHMCS/Terminus.php:0 Stack trace: #0 [internal function]: WHMCS\Terminus->whmcsExceptionHandler(Object(Illuminate\Database\QueryException)) #1 {main} thrown in /home/public_html/includes/classes/WHMCS/Terminus.php on line 0 Thank you, Ody

ody
Yes, I found that all porblems caused by whoisserver.php most TLD entries special for new one TLDs in whois server are totally unreliable so if your domain search stucking this is the main problem how to fix it, check one by one which tld stuck into WHMCS cart our page like yourdomain.???/cart.php?a=add&domain=register and check one by one also sometimes some TLDs works with WHMCS's default entry like aTLD|whois.donuts.co|.... but most times stuck also unfortunately WHMCS is totally unreliable in one of the most needed service which we want to work properly also searching is too slow special if you add all domain TLDs and now we speak about some 100s of new one!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHMCS is too old in many areas, it's not have even a simple 2way email verification script, we don't mention that anybody can create a subdomain order with your master domain !!!!!!!!!!???????? ody
Thank you Matt for your redirect help, this is about domain renewal but we speak hear about how a simple domain search stuck and how much unreliable is your whoisserver.php page-entries and the reason why we can sell our PRODUCTS-SERVICES etc. http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?86494-New-gTLDs-Whois-Server/page26 See last post
brian!
even with a fully correct whoisservers file, having 80 alternate TLDs enabled is a little excessive - not only is there a high risk of a timeout (which effectively is what your error is), you could also start running into whois lookup limits quite quickly... depending on your server setup, i'd recommend searching no more that 20 TLDs simutaneously. if you're going to want to search for so many alternate domains, you might be better off using a solution that doesn't use whoisservers and queries the domain via API instead - two of which are Hexonet and the free Resellerclub/Logicboxes addon... though it depends on who your current registrar is and if you want to switch. https://www.hexonet.net/software/whmcs-module http://www.whmcs.com/appstore/329/FREE-ResellerClub-Tools-v2.html bear in mind that both of these are third-party addons, so WHMCS support won't help with any issues... but searches should be faster and you will be able to do more of them at a time... one other possible advantage for you is that you could offer premium domains - you effectively can't do that using whoisservers as a lookup result would only tell if a domain was available, not how much for.
ody
Brian we had check them, also some other modules and some of them we had buy them as for translating or navigation bars etc.... about FREE ResellerClub Tools v2 we took a free licence but lastly we decide not to use it and also those one for which he had pay already & the reason why is that there is no any official connection between them and WHMCS so as we all WHMCS users we have into our databases very sensitive personal data, bank accounts, debit cards .... we decide not to risk it and we try to work only with WHMCS official tools, solutions... Note: We don't have anything to refer against these modules or companies which we refer above. Edited April 5, 2016 by ody
brian!
but lastly we decide not to use it and also those one for which he had pay already & the reason why is that there is no any official connection between them and WHMCS personally, I wouldn't necessarily see that as a bad thing. so as we all WHMCS users we have into our databases very sensitive personal data, bank accounts, debit cards .... we decide not to risk it and we try to work only with WHMCS official tools, solutions... i'm not sure if that's a safer risk. hexonet are a large registrar, so i'm sure they've got better things to do that grab your personal data... resellerclubmods has been around for years (and I quite happily have his module installed on a dev installation). I appreciate what you're saying about protecting your data, and there are dodgy WHMCS coders out there - but personally, if I can't write a solution for a problem myself, i'd prefer to go with a reliable third-party author rather than WHMCS - if only because if it develops a bug, it should be fixed quicker by its author rather than waiting for WHMCS to provide an update to their addon.
