Remitur
I'm approaching to WHMCS just now, but there's a detail I can't find anywhere: how to manage domains renewal in redemption period, and how to publish redemption fee? There are two different important points about it: - renewal in redemption period happens; if you have few dozen domains, it will happen rarely and you can manage it by hand. But if you have thousands of domain, it will happen daily... and you can not manage it by hand. - rules by ICANN staed that you must publish the redemption fee for each domain and, when someone register a domain, he must be informed about renewal fee and redemption fee. But in WHMCS there's no place where I can setup redemption fee for each TLD, and so... ? I found in this forum various threads, rather confused, about plugin/modules/workaround about it, but no one seems to be "the" solution... How to...
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted February 1, 2016 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted February 1, 2016 Hi, Due to these reams of different rules and the fact that it's a manual process at some registrar, WHMCS does not currently automate any domain redemption activities. This is probably for the best so that you can check the redemption price for the particular domain with your registrar, manually invoice the client and then initiate the redemption restoration process via their website.
SilverNodashi
John, surely this can be supported in WHMCS. Each domain registry has their own module, and they all publish prices for registration, renewal and redemption. Adding another field to the module shouldn't be that difficult. As WHMCS client's, we're loosing out a LOT of money ($4000+ for us in 2015) due to redemption fees. We don't know when a domain goes into redemption, and when a client pays the domain once it's in redemption, WHMCS simply renews it at the normal renewal cost.
sahostking
I agree. We have a domains team but at times customers domain goes into redemption state and then customer pays regular cost and not at redemption price which is costing us.
Remitur
There's this add on that, with a workaround, badly fix the issue... https://www.whmcs.com/appstore/2170/Domain-Redemption-Fee-Manager.html But it has a fixed redemption fee (and it's hard ask the same price for every TLD...)
