ptoone
Trying to update from Version: 5.3.14 to 6.2.1 and getting this error: Unable to complete incremental updates: Unable to import the 6.0.1 database file. Unable to import /resources/sql/upgrade601release1.sql: MySQL server has gone away I have checked some other posts like this one: http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?104247-MySQL-has-gone-away-error and the mySQL max_allowed_packet limit is pretty much bumped up to its maximum as it is. I have also optimized the database to reduce its size. I have opened a ticket with whmcs on this and they have said that host has variables for packets and timeouts which are too small. Either way I am not sure where to go to get this resolved. Any ideas? Can I do a manual upgrade?
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted January 28, 2016 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted January 28, 2016 Hi, Please restore your pre-upgrade backup. Then from the server command line, execute the following command: php -f /path/to/whmcs/install/bin/installer.php -- -u -v Replace /path/to/whmcs with the path of your WHMCS installation. Please let me know what output you get.
ptoone
Thanks. I managed to finally resolve this another way. I first upgraded to 6.0 and then to 6.2.
