lindem
Hello... How are you guys doing to upgrade to the latest version since WHMCS didn`t provide the "modified files" only? Regards.
bear
Download the package, unpack. Grab the template directory and using something like Beyond Compare check what differences there are to the template code, if any. If there are changes, update the old file with the new changes, or add in any modifications from the old version to the new. Upload all, run the upgrade script.
mrprez
The EZ way, throw $12.95 through the crack under the door and it magically gets done for you! John
ShoresPC
I just briefly read over the update details, but is it true that the template files are different so we have to re-do our template?
bear
That's a possibility, of course, depending on what version you're moving from. This is why I recommended a comparison tool, since it can highlight these differences and make updating them much simpler.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted October 24, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted October 24, 2007 The readme file lists the changed files so you can see what files you need to update from that. There's 5 in total when going from 3.3 to 3.4. Matt
meeven
Upload all, run the upgrade script. Does that mean running http://www.domain.com/upgrade.php? If this is important, why isn't this in the README.txt? I have tried to upgrade many times and failed miserably.
ckh
Does that mean running http://www.domain.com/upgrade.php? If this is important, why isn't this in the README.txt? I have tried to upgrade many times and failed miserably. This is what I found in the readme in the 3.4 update 4. Run the upgrade script at http://www.yourdomain.com/whmcs/install/install.php (choose Upgrade Install for your version on Step 2 - the upgrade you require will be the only option enabled) PLEASE REMEMBER: Before running any upgrade, you should always backup your database. This is what I found in the 3.41 readme for both the changedfiles and the full script: 3. Run the upgrade script at http://www.yourdomain.com/whmcs/install/install.php (choose Upgrade Install for your version on Step 2 - the upgrade you require will be the only option enabled) PLEASE REMEMBER: Before running any upgrade, you should always backup your database. I believe it is there, you may just have missed it.

You're right. I was looking for upgrade.php, but realized that running http://www.domain.com/install/install.php handles the upgrade automatically.
