WHMCS applies discount on top of customer Pricing Slab

box

Recommended Posts

Domain pricing Slabs should override any percentage discount the customer group has.

For example:

Customer standard domain pricing is 12€.

Customer reseller group domain pricing slab is 10€.

Reseller group is defined with 15% discount.

If reseller orders a domain it will generate invoice for 8.5€ adding a 15% discount on his pricing slab (making pricing slabs almost useless).

Percentage discount in customer groups should be used for other services like hosting (not domains that have their own slabs).

Actually customer groups should be extended to support different discount based on product but this is another discussion.

a similar question was asked four years ago - http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?35349-Client-discount-group-and-exclude&p=175581

client group discounts apply to all invoices and therefore all products.

i'm not sure if they've changed that view, so the feature is probably still working as they intend it to... if so, that means they won't see it as a bug, but will direct you towards making a feature request.

Oh, it's one of those "it's not a bug, it's a feature" kind of thing.

Bummer, this makes no sense, fixed pricing slabs purpose should be to override any percentage pricing group discount so it's useless this way.

Right now, you can either use pricing slabs or group discount but not both at the same time.

Technically, I understand pricing slabs are used in order process while discount groups are only used in invoicing but still, they should be able to override this.

This could really be avoided if discount groups were attributed to products instead of being global.

as you say, it makes no sense.

you could try submitting a bug report about this in the Bug Reports forum - worst case, Nate might tell you it's not a bug; but maybe it will encourage them to ponder on this feature internally and bring improvements into v6.
