Auto renew domain does not renew with credits

Hi,

We are used to the old AWBS software that would in case of a domain name set to auto-renew, renew the domain automatically when the customer has enough credits in their account.

I just had a domain name expire at Enom, that the customer had set to auto renew and had more than enough credits in his account.

Why doesn't this work? Did I miss a setting?

If the domain was set to auto-renew @ enom then enom will renew it if balance is available - whmcs isn't involved.

If you mean the domain was set to invoice-for-renewal in WHMCS and auto-renew off at enom (the correct setup) then the API renewal instruction will be sent to enom when the invoice is paid.

If the client had enough 'credit' at the point of invoicing then the invoice would be auto-paid (subject to you enabling that option in whmcs) which would effectively do the same thing as them manually paying the invoice.

So ... what exactly does the invoice say when you view it as admin in WHMCS ?

Hi,

The option to which othellotech refers is is Setup > General Settings > Invoices tab > Disable Auto Credit Applying.

This should be UNticked.

Provided auto-renew was enabled for the domain, and auto credit applying was enabled, the renewal invoice will have been generated prior to the domain's expiration in accordance with your Setup > Automation Settings.

What entries do you see around the time of the renewal invoice generation under Utilities > Logs > Activity Log please?
