ccdave
Hi All Complete newbie question here so I hope to get some replies. If I buy a domain for a client in the top box it says billing cycle. I enter annually. Then below in the domain registration box I select 8 years and commit the order. Does this mean the client is going to get another bill for 8 years in a years time? Guess I might be being an idiot here. Does it sync the renewal dates with the provider (Heart Internet)? Thanks Dave
Alex - Arvixe
If you register a domain for 8 years it won't be invoiced again until 8 years has passed. If you order a hosting package annually alongside the domain for 8 years, the hositng package would be invoiced every year but the domain won't, until 8 years. Heart Internet does support the domain sync script, yes. Details here: http://docs.whmcs.com/Domains_Tab#Domain_Sync_Enabled
ccdave
Thank you for the reply I appreciate it. Is there any way of seeing the next invoice date in the database? Would be handy to see to know everything is OK.
ccdave
Anyone know how it calculates it?
brian!
you will be able to see it in the Admin Area.. if you're looking for details about a specific domain/product, you can use the search box in the top-right corner - if it finds any results, you can click them for further info. if you want to look at all your domains/products, then you can go to either... clients -> domain registrations clients -> products/services ... to see a filterable list. the date that you're looking for is "Next Due Date" - this is the date that will be used by whmcs, assuming your automation is setup correctly, to trigger the sending of renewal invoices - so x number of days before that date (where x is the value you've entered for "Invoice Generation in the Automation Settings, e.g 14 days), whmcs will generate renewal invoices for these domains/products. http://docs.whmcs.com/Automation_Settings#Invoice_Generation
ccdave
That's what I thought thank you for the detailed explanation. If I place an order for the product today should it say todays date as next due date? That's what it says? In the product I have billing cycle annually enabled. Maybe tomorrow it will say next years date?
