Sending quote, does not create new account if quote accepted

Documentation says:

Creating a Quote

....

Next, choose if the quote is for an existing client or a new client, and if it's for a new client, you can enter their details and only if the quote is accepted will a client account be created for them

How can activate this behaveiour?

Steps I tried:

- new quote to new client.

- send email with PDF and link to quote (added this manually in email template).

- new client clicks email link, go to view quote and clicks on ACCEPT button

- no account is created, no error, just a blank page is shown.

Also I tried to accept the quote manually from admin:

- go to quotes view

- select quote of new cliente (with no account created yet)

- change status to 'accepted'

- no account is created, either email with confirmation is sent to client.

Does this feature really works?

Which are the correct steps to make this work?

thanks

I'd always suggest treating the documentation as guidance rather than definitive - there are many instances where WHMCS features have been upgraded that the documentation hasn't kept pace with... one of the WHMCS guys said on the forums that they are planning to update it...

I'm not overly familiar with the quotes side of WHMCS, but I can see two issues...

1. I'm unsure email links will work, as I think you may need to login to see the quote, and you can't login without being a client... I might be wrong on that, but that's how it seems to be working locally for me!

2. it's not switching the status to "accepted" that will create the new account, it's when you select "Convert to Invoice" and issue an invoice (or invoices) that a new account will be created... I just tested this locally, and when the invoice is sent, it then creates the new account for the client - clicking the "Convert To Invoice" button will change the status to "Accepted".

I think the documentation might be referring to "accepted" in the sense that the customer has agreed to the quotation, rather than any "accept" button...
