jasonhawaii
Me: Hi. I am a developer and would like a developer license so I can work on my local machine. Do you have anything like that? Thanks. William WHMCS Upgrade Specialist: Our free developers licenses are reserved for our direct license holders and unfortunately as your license was purchased via a reseller your account is ineligible for this license. However we could offer you a dev license for $45 Me: Well, I think I am going to keep my $45!
AffordableDomainsCanada
Thats poopy. I always try and buy direct even if it cost a little extra, its always worth it in the end! Sorry to hear about that.

zomex
Not defending WHMCS in anyway but it does make sense that they would give benefits to direct license holders as they make the full amount of the license. If your license is with a reseller hosting company their markup on those licenses would be much less as they'll purchase in bulk.
WebsiteIntegrations
so your going to develop something based on their product - to make money i assume? and have a problem with paying them?
gPowerHost
so your going to develop something based on their product - to make money i assume? and have a problem with paying them? Most developer licenses are free. Microsoft offers about $25K worth of software free (for development purposes only). So if you have no idea what the industry is like then it isn't fair to jump down someones throat. I can go on and on as I've been a developer for 36 years and I can list company after company that require the purchase of nothing for developers. This guy HAS a product, and he doesn't like the developer practice. Why get so upset. Let him voice is opinion without oppressing him.
Infopro
...This guy HAS a product, and he doesn't like the developer practice. ... That's not what the original post says though. He wants to work on his local machine. This topic can be continued via the ticket system. Closed.
