Domain checker functionality ?

Hi All,

 

As you can see this is my first post and i am a newbie. I am going to develop a registrar module for an hosting company. I have looked into the documents.

 

I want to know that how can i use my hosting company's reseller account for domain checking ??

 

Actually, i started to develop my module using WHMCS sample module and assigned that new module in WHMCS products/services section. However, WHMCS still checking domain availability.

 

So does domain checking functionality is default and does not affected by registrar module selected in Admin Panel ??

 

Sorry for this newbie question, can anyone help me out in this by providing some information ?/

domain checking is based on the contents of the includes/whoisservers.php

not which registrar or hosting modules you have installed.

Is there any way/function we can use our hosting company to check the domain availability ?

Hi,

WHMCS will connect with the appropriate whois server for each TLD as specified in the /includes/whoisservers.php file. This is usually done on port 43 so that needs to be open on your server's fire wall. As othellotech mentioned it's completely independent of your domain registrar.
