Billing Cycle set to Free and WHMCS still charges client

I've suspended a hosting service and wanted to stop charging my client, so I set Billing Cycle to Free. He still got charged. What's the proper way to stop WHMCS from billing a client? I would have thought that Billing Cycle = Free would have done it. I would rather not put Recurring Amount to zero so when I reinstate the client, I will know what I was charging him.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi,

Changing the billing cycle to free would have stopped WHMCS from generating an invoice, but if they had a PayPal Subscription for example you'd also need to cancel that directly on the PayPal website as it will continue to send payments regardless.
