I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I have a client who wants me to host another site. So I'm following the instructions found at http://docs.whmcs.com/Products_Management [h=2]Adding Products/Services[/h] To add products/services to a clients account, the add order process has to be used You can do this from the Client Summary page by clicking the Add Order link in the Actions panel But when I go to the Client Summary page, I see no Add Order link. In fact, I see no Actions panel. I see Other Actions, but within that, there's no Add Order link. When I go to that client's Products/Services tab, I see no "Add New" I'm feeling pretty stupid here. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Scott - - - Updated - - - Okay, I found out I have to do this from the Orders tab, not from within the Client Summary as the documentation seems to suggest.

I set up a tickbox Client Custom Field called "Needs work done" and I can pull those up by searching for "on." That's fanatastic. Now I can use WHMCS as a CRM. Sort of. I tried adding another Client Custom Field called "Date of last contact" and entered a value that would sort by date, numerically, and alphabetically -- 201310 Year and month is all I need. I'd like to be able to search for values greater or less than these date values. But it's not working. Is there a way to do this. Or is the client search only an exact match? By the way, the CRM add on is worthless since it only handles prospects and not existing clients, if I'm understanding it correctly. Thanks, Scott

I set up a client custom field called, "Website needs work." I checked this for one client. Then I searched for on, yes, 1, and -1. Nothing pulled up that client. The value is on in the database; I checked in phpMyAdmin. How so I pull up clients with this field checked? Thanks, Scott - - - Updated - - - Never mind. It's working now. I think I had the wrong client group selected by mistake.

I'm using Authorize.net, and yes, I'm storing the credit cards.
-
I've had some hosting charges declined and the gateway log says Response Code => 3 Response Subcode => 2 Response Reason Code => 33 Response Reason Text => Credit card number is required. But there is a credit card on file and when I reenter the exact same card, it goes through just fine. I'm really hoping I won't have to reenter all my client's credit card info. Has anyone else run into this? Is there a fix for this? Thanks, Scott http://www.hammock-hosting.com

A client of mine received the email below. The problem is, there is no such thing as wordpress@hammock.net. And I can't find this email template. I contacted Stripe, the gateway I'm using, and they say they do not send out email. The Invoice ID is correct. I searched WHMCS, even doing a sql search using PHPmyAdmin and could not find wordpress@hammock.net. Where is this email coming from? My client got multiple copies of it. This really has me worried. Billing Cycle set to Free and WHMCS still charges client
scott_see replied to scott_see's topic in Using WHMCS
I see what happened. The invoice date was 09/23/2012. Then I set the billing cycle to free, but the invoice had already been generated. That's why he got charged. -
I've suspended a hosting service and wanted to stop charging my client, so I set Billing Cycle to Free. He still got charged. What's the proper way to stop WHMCS from billing a client? I would have thought that Billing Cycle = Free would have done it. I would rather not put Recurring Amount to zero so when I reinstate the client, I will know what I was charging him. Thanks, Scott

I'm trying to credit an account for six months of hosting. I went to transations and put the $ in Amount Out and checked Add to Client's Credit Balance. Then I went to Summary and clicked on Manage Credits. The transaction appeared with a zero balance. So I added the $ amount there. (Which can't be the way it's supposed to be done.) And now at the Summary, there's a negative Income and Zero Credit Balance. None of this seems right. So I went in and deleted the Transaction that credited the account, but it's still listed in Credit Management. Strange that adding a Transaction adds a credit in the Credit Management window, but deleting a credit Transaction doesn't delete the credit in the Credit Management window. So I'm going to delete that credit in the Credit Management window and try something else. Now I added a credit in Credit Management. The Credit Balance appears in Summary now. But it doesn't show up in Transactions. Is that as it should be? Is this the best way to do it? Add credits in Credit Management? Thanks, and hopefully this post can result in a best practices for crediting customers. Scott See p.s. Believe it or not, I did search the forum first and didn't find anything definitive on this.

Can WHMCS set up sub accounts in Enom for new registrations?
scott_see replied to scott_see's topic in Using WHMCS
Is there any for WHMCS to add an Enom customer as a reseller sub-account? All my domain name customers are set up with their own Enom sub accounts. thanks, Scott -
Can WHMCS set up sub accounts in Enom for new registrations?
scott_see replied to scott_see's topic in Using WHMCS
But I'm a reseller for Enom. So even if a client logs in directly to Enom, as opposed to http://www.hammock-registration.com,'>http://www.hammock-registration.com, I still make the same money. So now, to prevent domains from getting comingled with my own, a customer has to go to http://www.hammock-registration.com and then to http://www.hammock-hosting.com. Even if WHMCS could put client domains in their own folder, that would be a big help. Oh well, but if it can't work that way, so be it. Scott -
Can WHMCS set up sub accounts in Enom for new registrations?
scott_see posted a topic in Using WHMCS
I've stopped allowing customers from buying domain names via WHMCS since it puts their domain name into my root account, not into a sub account of their own. That really messes me up. Is there a workaround for this? Is there a way for WHMCS to create sub accounts in Enom? Thanks, Scott See http://www.hammock-hosting.com http://www.hammock.net -
I'm finding this to be a big problem too. If someone registers a domain name via WHMCS, it ends up in my Enom account. I'm averse to leave it there as I strongly believe clients should have their own account (or sub account as the case may be). So then I push the domain into their sub account in Enom and I'm assuming I have to delete their domain within WHMCS or they'll be double billed in a year. It's a very cumbersome way to do business. Or am I missing something? There's got to be an easier say. WHMCS is amazing software in every other respect. Scott http://www.lucky-tiger-products.com/

Okay, that makes sense, thanks. Scott

Is it possible to move WHMCS to an account other than the one whm is set up on? I've got http://www.hammock-hosting.com/whm and http://www.hammock-hosting.com/whmcs/ But my company main site is http://www.hammock.net/'>http://www.hammock.net/ (A Joomla site) I'd like to install J!WHMCS Integrator so WHMCS will integrate into my Joomla site, but then I need to have WHM on hammock.net. The J!WHMCS Integrator folks are recommending that I install WHM on http://hosting.hammock.net Is it possible for me to move http://www.hammock-hosting.com/whmcs/ to http://hosting.hammock.net or will that mess things up since whm is on hammock-hosting? Thanks, Scott See http://www.hammock.net

Definitely an online form. The "thank you" page you go to after payment has the subscription form. -

I'll 2nd that. This is one of the best autoresponder software I've used.
