scott_see
I've suspended a hosting service and wanted to stop charging my client, so I set Billing Cycle to Free. He still got charged. What's the proper way to stop WHMCS from billing a client? I would have thought that Billing Cycle = Free would have done it. I would rather not put Recurring Amount to zero so when I reinstate the client, I will know what I was charging him. Thanks, Scott
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted October 3, 2012 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted October 3, 2012 Hi, Changing the billing cycle to free would have stopped WHMCS from generating an invoice, but if they had a PayPal Subscription for example you'd also need to cancel that directly on the PayPal website as it will continue to send payments regardless.
scott_see
I see what happened. The invoice date was 09/23/2012. Then I set the billing cycle to free, but the invoice had already been generated. That's why he got charged.
