ccm
Hi, Can someone please help me with the following: 1. I would like each invoice to have a unique randomly generated number assigned to it --just like Tickets. 2. For administration purposes, I would also like to have sequential ID assigned to each invoice as well (just like how Clients have sequential ID assigned). Thank you! m8internet
1. I would like each invoice to have a unique randomly generated number assigned to it --just like Tickets That could make tracking and accounting for invoices quite difficult, especially if you have large numbers of invoices generated each financial year Why have two numbers assigned to each invoice? A random number and a sequential invoice number...
ccm
Hi, Unique random invoice number would be the actual invoice number (just like how it currently works for Tickets and Orders). Sequential number IDs would be just for admin and for reporting purposes only (just like how Orders and Clients are numbered internally right now), for example: Invoice Table ID 1 | Invoice # 1658416 ID 2 | Invoice # 3546211 ID 3 | Invoice # 8439617 Thank you! m8internet
You might want to discuss with your accountant... Random numbers on invoices is just going to add to their time and in turn your costs I've never heard of it before; all GRN, ASN, etc in sequential order
ccm
Hi, WHMCS generates all reports so time is not really an issue. Thank you. J
zomex
Do you use any accounting software for your business? I use Xero and changes like this can really complicate the process.
ccm
With the IDs assigned to each invoice, I should be fine.
michelle
I was also wondering how to do this. I'm a small web host and I'd like it not to be so obvious how many customers I have. My monthly customers can see exactly how many invoices went out since their last invoice. It would be nice to have a random invoice option.

melotel
I suggested just using Invoice # Incrementation. Enter the difference you want between invoice numbers generated by the system (Default: 1). Set it to something odd, like 7 or 27 etc. Can be found here: configgeneral.php#tab=7
