I would HIGHLY recommend writing a WordPress plugin that lets us place the order modules and such on our WordPress sites. This way we can pick whatever design we want easily. I'm not sure if I can even explain how badly I've been wanting something like this...

were talking about a new design, not functionality. Lets stay on topic here.

Hey Everyone;

Here is my submission for the competition:

http://whmcsaddon.com/images/template_competition/whmcs_template_homepage.jpg

We completely removed the portal idea from the homepage. This is very web 1.0. Instead we replaced it with a nice looking area that will help sell your products, notify customers of announcements, and let them view your recent tweets.

http://whmcsaddon.com/images/template_competition/whmcs_template_homepage-loggedin.jpg

This is the same open concept as before just what is shown when a user is logged in.

http://whmcsaddon.com/images/template_competition/whmcs_template_account.jpg

We really cleaned up the account page. Made it simple. This only shows important information.

Whether or not the clients balance is paid up or needs to be paid your client will always know in a simple glimpse. We removed the unpaid invoice section as it really just did not belong on this page.

As well we added in a recent message section. This is a place where users can read or reply to recent ticket activity or recent emails sent out to them. This is a hybrid between viewing tickets and viewing emails.

We made it real simple for your users. Everything is nice and organized for your users convenience. Everything is in its own section and self explanatory.

We added a neat little quick buy feature for addons. Instead of showing the addons in the old fashion table style it is more practical to show your users all available addons for the product. This is to help you sell your addons. The idea behind this is that your users will be completely aware of what addons are available for them and with a single click can add or remove any addon.

And finally to top everything off, we spent a lot of time organizing the WHMCS menus:

After so many years of using WHMCS the one thing that always got to me personally was trying to get to the product page easily. The "Manage" menu allows your users to easily get to any of their products or services with you in a glimpse. This removes the need to click "My Products and Services" and then locate your product.

Hope you enjoy it ;)

Actually, Matt did say this in the initial post:

Also, nice clean design Jeremy!

Correct, but integrating whmcs into another site wouldnt be what i would call a template design.

Also, to counter the compliment on Jeremy's design. I think its actually quite bad and dated looking. Especially the colors and gradients.

Im personally pulling for Bretts clean and modern looking design. Plus im betting his source is clean. =)

Agreed, I was just reiterating the fact for the truly 'last minute' designers. :)

I do like Bretts, I wasn't getting into a competition with you on that, don't get so defensive..

People should be put on a wall of shame for poor code... sorry but it is the bane of our lives.

My source would be clean as well and meet all the coding standards. Bretts source would just have a lot less HTML elements. Simply because of the way his is designed over mine.

Source really is not what people should be voting on though. Matt will probably have some quality control on it anyways. It is really about the design concepts in general.

Some of brett's suggesting are good and can be implemented on any existing theme... tabs for example are something that is great to have in the domain management page.. I didn't design that page but if I did I would've done the same...

Hello everyone!

We have created layout for the competition with Paul from redsunflowerstudio.com .

Our main goal was to make homepage and clientarea MUCH more intuitive. We have grouped Support, Order etc to the boxes so the users may find what they are interested faster. Many of the features on the default WHMCS template are not useful. The design created by Paul is also modern and clean so WHMCS look more professional.

The new feature we have created are the "notices" on the client area. User will see the most important messages like - "your domain will expire in xx days" or your account has been set up etc.

We will also post the second design later today.

Looks good. :)

Hello again

As promised, this is the second layout. The main improvement here is the "Quick Order" feature, that allows you to place comparison boxes (and other) of your services on your homepage of WHMCS.

Its slightly different than the first one.

A few days ago... I said that my first idea was to list a few products on the homepage as Featured.. but I wasn't sure if it was possible to do it since there is many product types... and even custom product types...

I know as a webdeveloper that when designing applications like WHMCS where everything is dynamic and can evolve... you need to stay as "generic" as possible so everything can fit without breaking anything else... I'm still not sure but here is a basic version of the featured block in the homepage... it got the product type, name, 3 properties and the price

Would be great of Matt can give us his input about this.

I like this also , very nice . It would be really great on the domain list screen if each domain had had quick access icons to each specific function i.e renew / edit dns / registrar lock / edit nameservers etc
