I am trying to properly setup my dev licenced whmcs for test purposes

I have uploaded the live copy of whmcs to the dev.mydomain.com folder but I can not access the backend to setup the dev licance it keeps bring up a page that says "Down for Maintenance

An upgrade is currently in progress... Please come back soon... " is there something I am missing or is there something I can do to fix this. I might add I never activated the maintenance feature of whmcs neither.

This indicates that either some files are missing having failed to upload from the new files you uploaded or that the database has not been upgraded yet. So to resolve you just need to follow the upgrade steps again, repeating the upload and ensuring all files upload successfully. Providing they do then that will resolve your issue.

Hello,

What happens when you visit the the admin directory?

Jack

It is mentioned in my OP in the quotation marks is what I get when I visited the admin directories

John that was what was wrong I was having problems with installing complete whmcs files some of them were uploading with errors I got my host to upload them for me and it worked fine thanks. :)

I do have some questions about the dev purpose though which I will look in the how to's forum first before posting here.
