Multiple critera for mass mail doesn't work?

Hello,

I setup a custom field called "newsletter" with the options Yes & No. At this time all of the accounts have Yes selected.

When I create a new mass-mail email and select Yes under newsletter and a selection of products I get the following error:

No Recipients

The criteria selected for this email has resulted in no recipients which means it cannot be sent

Is it not possible to select options from both General & products/services?

That's not possible.

This is very unfortunate but thanks for letting me know. Any chance of this being implemented in the future?

As it stands there's only 2 options:

1) Send my offer specific to only a few clients to everyone with "Yes" selected. This would be a waist of time for many users. E.g a web hosting offer to someone who has an account just for the affiliate program.

2) Send the offer just to users who may be interested in a web hosting offer. This is fine until someone says they won't want to receive any more offers. Now the only option would be to remove their account (obviously not possible if they have a product/service) or stop sending targeted emails.

I think what John advised you was incorrect on this occassion.

If you're using the Mass Mail process, and selecting to send a Product/Service related email message, so that the client and product filter options are both displayed, then of course you are meant to be able to select criteria from any of the displayed fields and it should work. What I suspect the problem is here is that if you've retrospectively setup the Newsletter custom field then are you sure your existing clients are set to the Yes option, or do they infact have no selection at all and Yes just happens to be the first option in the dropdown menu? If that's the case then you would need to actually be going through each profile and saving it set to Yes before they are actually assigned to that value.

Thanks Matt.

My client's profiles have Yes selected (I set this up just yesterday with Yes as the first option) but after going to a client's profile and clicking save it worked. Even though everyone's profile is set to Yes I'll have to click save for every profile.

Is there anyway around this without going to each profile and clicking save manually?

Thanks,

Jack

You must create a hook after order that will set that option to yes after new client signup.

That is also answer for your previous question... You can set that custom field to yes directly in the database with a single query.
