SSL for Admin/Client Areas

Can someone point me to the information regarding recommended setup specific to SSL for the WHMCS system?

 

We likely would host this remotely and I am guessing SSL would need to be set up for the Client and Admin pages. What are the standard retrogradations for doing this?

I mean that we have an off-site server that is not at our office that WHMCS would be loaded on.

As far as the software is concerned any certificate would do (apart from shared SSL).

Once an SSL certificate has been installed on your main domain you shouldn't have any problems accessing WHMCS via https://. What I do is setup a bookmark to WHMCS using https:// so I don't ever access it via http://

Another reply here. Do most folks point the customer portal to https:// as well?

 

I noticed the demo was not set up in this method. Is it necessary? What is typical?

It's not necessary, but with more users becoming increasingly web-savvy I think you'd see a reduced number of signups without an SSL cert. WHMCS will intelligently switch to an https connection for important pages such as the order form, login page etc. so no need to change your links.
