Reinstalling WHMCS

When I upgraded to HostGator's reseller account, I had about a dozen addon domains and used one of these for my WHMCS install. I now want to move this addon domain to its own account in my WHM. From what I understand, I will have to reinstall WHMCS when I have the new account setup in my WHM.

Does anyone have advice on the best route to take in this situation? I have downloaded the complete file structure to my PC because I had originally imagined it would only take a reinstall of my addon domain files and databases.

So, in a nutshell, my primary domain for my reseller's account is NOT the domain I use for the WHMCS install. The domain that I am using for WHMCS is an addon domain that I now wish to move to its own account. I would rather not, of course, lose existing WHMCS client accounts and configuration.

1. backup everything (files, db, etc)

2. backup everything again

3. backup everything one more time

4. remove the addon domain

5. add the new hosting account

6. copy files back

7. make a new DB and restore content

8. edit configuration.php to have new db, user etc

9. check it works

10. backup everything
