cjamesrun
There seems to be a bug in the .ca patch. when going through the cart on the front side, all .ca domains come up as 'unavailable'. When doing a Who is on the admin side, all domains come back as already registered. But the who is information below show that the domain is 'available'. It appears that the includes/whoisservers.php may need to be updated from line 87 - 99 reading |AVAIL to |available Can an anyone confirm this fix/bug?
9DollarDomains
I'm getting the same thing. All .CA domains are saying they are ''already taken'', even though the WHOIS check shows ''available''. For example, checking abcd1234.ca says: "Sorry! abcd1234.ca is already taken!" and when I click on the WHOIS link, and the WHOIS window opens, it says: WHOIS Results for abcd1234.ca Domain name: abcd1234.ca Domain status: available % WHOIS look-up made at 2010-10-13 16:59:10 (GMT) % % Use of CIRA's WHOIS service is governed by the Terms of Use in its Legal % Notice, available at http://www.cira.ca/legal-notice/?lang=en'>http://www.cira.ca/legal-notice/?lang=en % % © 2010 Canadian Internet Registration Authority, (http://www.cira.ca/)
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted October 13, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted October 13, 2010 Try updating includes/whoisservers.php as follows: FIND: .ca|whois.cira.ca|AVAIL REPLACE WITH: .ca|whois.cira.ca|available
9DollarDomains
Hmmm... I tried putting in "Domain status: available" as the result, but that doesn't work. Is it possible to do a NOT, as in 'NOT Creation' or 'NOT Expiry' or 'NOT Registrar'? WHOIS Results for ibm.ca Domain name: ibm.ca Domain status: registered Creation date: 2000/09/29 Expiry date: 2011/05/22 Registrar: Name: Arvic Search Services Inc. Number: 95 Registrant: Name: IBM Canada Administrative contact: Name: Nicholas Trio Postal address: IBM New Orchard Road East Armonk, NY 10504 United States Phone: +1 914-945-1850 Fax: Email: nrt@watson.ibm.com Edited October 13, 2010 by 9DollarDomains
9DollarDomains
Try updating includes/whoisservers.php as follows: FIND: .ca|whois.cira.ca|AVAIL REPLACE WITH: .ca|whois.cira.ca|available One of my replies didn't seem to post. When I change that to 'available' then everything comes back as available. I would guess because the word available is in every response: % Use of CIRA's WHOIS service is governed by the Terms of Use in its Legal % Notice, available at http://www.cira.ca/legal-notice/?lang=en When I try to make it something like 'status: available' that isn't found. I dont think it's the colon, since there are other response codes in the whoiservers.php file that contain colons, but hard to say...
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted October 13, 2010 WHMCS CEO Share Posted October 13, 2010 Well this wasn't something CIRA announced was changing but looks like the whois output has changed slightly. Thanks CIRA! The reason "status: available" isn't working for you is that they have a lot of spaces in there that you just aren't seeing thru a browser so it actually has to be "status: available". Therefore give the following line a try in includes/whoisservers.php for it: .ca|whois.cira.ca|Domain status: available Matt

Thank you.
